My happiness doesn't matter. God is displeased and marriage doesn't exist between 1 man and 1 woman if God is not involved - nothing has been joined together by God. If a Hindu get married in America doesn't matter. America doesn't make someone a Christian. We are ALL second class citizens in America. We didn't make this land nor did we start here. We are all descendents of immigrants. Second class to the Natives. But Marriage is a Holy Union performed by God. Take one of the following away: man, woman, God and put something else in its place, then no marriage.

Just as Christ wants us all to be at the 'wedding supper of the lamb'. Only those who Trust Jesus as the Way, Truth & Life will be in attendance. If Jesus lives in you - then you would practice God's word as He would. He said, "For this reason, God created them male and female" that a man shall leave his father and mother and be 'joined' to his wife. Has nothing to do with nationality.

Yes Solomon had many "strange women". The word Marriage is not use here. Read the passage in 1 Kings 11:1-14 and see just how upset God was with Solomon that He brought adversaries against him. It even states in the "Word of God" that this "displeased the Lord greatly". So no this union with many 'wives' was not Holy before God and therefore; was no greater than two women who have loved each other for the great majority of their adult lives and raised 4 children together in a stable relationship. Solomon was wrong just as those who choose 'marry another of the same sex'. Read Matt 19:9.

Type your reply...Matt 19:9 (NKJV) "And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery; and whoever marries her who is divorced commits adultery." The last part of this translation is Not included in the greek language. However the terms are not the same. And it was not this way from the beginning, beginning, beginning, beginning, (where it started, came from, originated).

Mark 10:6 (NKJV) "But from the beginning of the creation, God `made them male and female.' 7 `For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, 8 `and the two shall become one flesh'; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh.
9 "Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate."

The term for marriage is not the same term used in the greek here for 'marries another'. Marriage is a Holy Union performed by God. The 'marries another' is Aorist Active Subjunctive - Beginning in the past - decided and acted upon by the individual in the relationship without God - and completely decided on his own. God is not involved in the 'marries another' relationship. His use of the term 'marries another' is not the same as Marriage.

The term for 'joining together' is proskollathasetai. This is what God referred to in the book of Genesis when He brought the woman to the man and like Jesus referred to here in the New Testament quoting the Old Testament - 'For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be Joined Together'

Study your Hebrew and Greek and don't rely upon the translation your using. Marriage was not a social institution: it was a Holy Union performed by God. You

I agree with all my heart. Men should not cheat on their wives or vise-versa. Priests give a bad name to us all when they assault an adolescent. But why isn't this okay? Why not priests with little boys? Just how long will it take for this country to finally come to their senses and see that it's okay for adults to have sex with small children. God is Love remember - that's what has been proclaimed by many on this site. Just because you don't like the idea of seeing children assaulted sexually doesn't mean one-day it won't be legalized. It only takes one ignorant person to start proclaiming their self-righteous freedoms have been walked on because they were in an adult-child relationship where both parties loved each other. Homosexuality is not different. It's just on a different level. Why protect the so called rights of children? It's this type of mentality that most people have. I for one am sick of seeing people just behave any way they want - and it makes me sick for Christ says it's wrong. I didn't make this up - God put this in us.

Homosexuality is a sin just like all other sins, but it is a sin against the flesh - the prepared 'temple' of the Holy Spirit. Denying the Holy Spirit is Blasphemy - unforgiveable - and the only unforgiveable sin. The Holy Spirit has spoken and we need to wake up and pay attention. It's go nothing to do with LOVE in and of ourselves - He loves us and commands us to follow His commands and principles. Just sick!

Since God can do things we can't, I guess that gives license for us to do what we want too? There are things our children shouldn't be doing that only adults do, and likewise adults shouldn't do things that children do. God is above all of this - He does what He knows is best for us - we don't get to help Him in that. We get to be a part of His established plan. Nothing new.

Just because people in history of the same sex were married doesn't make it right! 1 man, 1 woman, God. If people in Vegas were married by peter pan - if God was blessing the union between 1 man and 1 woman - then God honors the vows. If they decide tomorrow to divorce - God doesn't approve. The sacredness of marriage is something that being destroyed in the world. 1 man, 1 woman, God. That simple.

You knew from an early age that you wanted something you shouldn't have. Sin is sin and to want it or desire it is wrong. Acting upon it is more wrong unless you are resisting the temptation. Read James. You do not believe God with all of your religious association. No one is force feeding anyone - you can choose to disbelieve the bible that's your right in America. "All Loving" -- Yes, God loves all, but that doesn't TRANSLATE into us being allowed to have sexual relations with whichever male or female we desire.

If being homosexual/gay as you put it is so right and God meant for us to celebrate our lifestyles (without His approval) why would my "coming back" as a gay person change my beliefs? Why would there be a 'struggle and heartache'? What's the struggle in being gay? Why the heartache? If you know you are living right, you know God approves - why do you care what I or anyone else thinks? If a child told you that you were ugly - would you throw a fit and say, "I wish you were ugly and then you would know how I feel?" So, If God approves of your lifestyle - Well . . . . . leave God out - If you know you are living a right lifestyle - then, why the struggle and heartache? What is so hard? Don't blame it on Christians telling you its wrong, since you believe its not, blame it on . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Christian woman - how can you say what you say, The Scripture says, beware of 'wolves in sheeps clothing' - that my dear is you. This has nothing to do with whether I am wrong or right . . . the Bible states the truth and that is all I have shared. Check with your local pastor and see what He says - unless he teaches from the 'grapes of wrath' or 'dr. seuss'. Christ does love - but His love doesn't allow us to do whatever we desire. Shame on you for trying to belitte the Word of God.

Check you history: People didn't leave for the new world running away from Buddhism, Muslims or the like. They simply wanted freedom to worship and baptize in their own way. However, God said, "It is not good for man to be alone" = He knows what men do when left to themselves. They make rules that leave God out of the picture - they decide things that are not Holy. But anything that this country stands for came at the hand of our Father in Heaven. His Son. Therefore if the country was established - it was established by Him! The world was created by God; or haven't you read? Therefore, all this belongs to Him. Get angry with God if you must but you can't change it. Leading people astray seems to be what you do best.

I agree that we should love one another. The greek would even emphasize 'agape umin exthrous' - love your enemies. Yes, the children should have been allowed to see their Mother. No, I don't think or believe gays are sinning - the Bible calls this sin therefore, I believe what the Bible teaches. I would do the same for these people as I would do for anyone else. First, I would have provided a funeral service that was loving and encouraging. Second, I would have kept in touch with the family left behind and let them know we were praying for them. Third, I would have gathered our church around them to take care of any need of the children. Then when appropriate, I would let them get on with their lives. God Bless you.

There is a tremendous difference in what you comment on. Zeus, Thor or Wotan are believed in. They are held in a certain esteem when we think of thunder and lightning. Who's laughing at that? However; when it comes to the Lord Jesus Christ, He is not a mystical being. Scripture is constantly held as foolish until someone in a bed of dirt digs up something that reflects what the Biblical writers stated years before. Do you then believe that someone in a later century (maybe the 21st) went out and buried something and then went back and dug it up to say "hey everybody look, this was mentioned in the bible?"

This is like finding the city of Jericho - with its walls broken down and saying - "hey were too stupid to figure this out but didn't we read about this somewhere?" or finding many artifacts to unquestionably prove that the men, kings, queens, of the bible were actually there. When you find something that proves Zeus lives on Olympia then I will believe it. We don't accept Jesus on blind faith - we accept Him on proven results and findings.

Everyone needs proof. I'm not discrediting that. I don't know what kind of Christians you have encountered in the past or present, but I am not one of those. Zeus hasn't sent a son to die for mankind. Just so you don't get too far to the left - If God can create you - a man - in the beginning, then how old would that man have to of been? infant? cross between a monkey and a man? 15 years old? How old? One day? Could he walk? Was he raised by wolves? We have to realize that elephants don't walk on their knees anymore, horses don't either, frogs still come from tadpoles, humans have a birth tail in the womb, aligators haven't evolved into anything, fish are still fish, birds are birds, they are all created to do and be exactly what they are. They can try to change but they can't. A dog will never be human even if he can open the fridge and pop open a can of coors. He will never be able to pay bills by figuring out how much his bill is first and then drop the envelope stuffed with correct change in the mail. In this way, if God can create man with 'age' why can't he create the earth with age as well. Scientists, meterologists, astronomers alike can never figure out God. He made it that way. If we could we wouldn't need Him. Our thoughts are not Gods, our ways are not Gods - He has confounded the way of the wicked. We seek answers from God - this is why people search the heavens (no there aren't bodies or souls or angels flying around up there) they are in search for truth. God wrote it down in a book for us today. I applaud you for your excellent attempt to discredit the Word of God - you're not the first to try that - I hear in your responses the many others who have gone before you and failed just as you have. You talk a good talk, but that is all it is . . . nothing more than talk . . . no action! You can't believe in a Holy God because you haven't given your life to Him. Don't think you can make the decision to follow Jesus, ask Jesus if you belong to Him and if He says you do - then live according to His Word to the best of your ability. When you see an area of your life that stands in direct contradiction to His Word then pray and fight to get your life right with Him. This will have tremendous effects upon those around you.

I don't try to say men didn't write the Bible, I believe that every word written is breathed by God and every writer wrote under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Without the Spirit of God involved, it wouldn't have turned out as it did.

The battle of Jericho didn't involve captureing women to be raped. It involved a battle between good and evil. Man however messes things up when he puts his own ideas into a situation that God said was to be done according to His Word. Same things happen today. God says "Love Me" - and we say "I can love anyone I wish". We say, "God must be homosexual". We say "God is mean and only wants love for Himself". You're right, why not love the creator of Heaven and Earth? He made you and me. So why not let us love (erotically) each other? This is wrong. This breakdown in what God commanded between men and women is not God's choice it is man's - therefore - we are wrong.

You misquote Scripture well - - - God did not tell us to hate our parents (there was never a command for this) He does say that if a man wishes to follow Him (Jesus) he must then be willing to "leave" his father and mother, brother and sister - Jesus addressed this after returning from the wilderness of temptation - when his mother and brothers and sisters arrived to take him away Jesus stated, "Who are my mother and brothers? He who doe the will of my Father in 'heaven', it is he who is my mother, brother, sister". So you can't say one thing because you think you know enough about a topic and then expect to prove your point using something you yourself said you don't live by because you live around a bunch of failures. "No one can live by the Bible". You were never expected to keep the commandments 100%. God said, "Love Me and Trust My Son Jesus, Live according to His principles" He gave us rules and methods to draw us back to Him.

We are the sinners, not God. God simply said, "Do this one thing - Love my Son Jesus and Trust Him" and we messes that up. God then gave us a bunch of rules to draw us back to the initial promise. the promise given 430 years before the 10 commandments were given to us. A promise given to Abraham. Even during this time, yes, Lot got it right. He lived in a community known as Sodom (which is now understood to reflect male prostitution) and when God sent His messengers to warn of impending destruction of the city - who showed up? Who showed up to mess things up even more - MEN! Men who wanted to "Know" The Hebrew word 'yada' - which is the same word used in Genesis to inform us of the relationship between Adam and Eve (man and woman) "Adam knew Eve and conceived a son" (Yada). The men of Sodom wanted to 'yada' the messengers - so Lot said, "this is a sin against God, at least take my daughters as to not do this wicked thing" Even Lot got it right when it came to homosexuality. You speak in error and teach falsely.

If you research a little more and keep your heart open to the Lord He will call you. He will ask for repentance in your life - something we all need to do daily - He will forgive you (without it you cannot inherit eternal life) and you will then begin seeing through accurate understanding of Scripture - How God is who He says He is.

No people like you start the wars. Your disobedience to the word of God. Matt Shephard wasn't killed by the church, he was assaulted by other men who disagreed with his life choice. You said it, he was openly gay, why must it be "openly". Why not just gay? To call him openly gay you yourself agree that his choice was against the principle of one man one woman found in the Bible. The lifestyle of homosexuality is a killer to families. It takes male and female dna to make people.

Now about what you were wondering about - the Bible doesn't say anywhere that you should be killed for working on the Sabbath, but it does say that the "son of Man was made for the Sabbath and the Sabbath for the son of Man." Pharisees thought like you do. The bible doesn't teach that women should keep their heads covered at all times when out of the house. That didn't come from the Word of God. And NO it doesn't say that in response to the hair of a woman she should be killed. Ignorance of the Word.

We can't change the rigidness of the bible. It was spoken that way. However, I preach from the hebrew, aramaic, and greek language bibles. Now you can argue all you want against the english translations but you do not know enough to argue against those languages.

I'm glad to hear you have found a way to live your life that you believe pleases God. If you don't truly live according to His word, then yes you are sinning and need to repent. Stop teaching on a subject you have no idea of, but please keep searching and learning. I don't think you really want to learn though . . . you seem to be soooo smart already. You show that in your ignorance of Scripture. Just search better.

Many of you intend to believe God is wrong. Jesus died alone. No one died for Him. No one died on His cross. The thiefs died alone. Just because they were there doesn't mean they were there for Jesus, however he was there for them. Mary, John and many others were at the site of the crucifixion but none of them died with Him. Jesus died alone. No one could endure what He did. And He did this for you.

Bad things happen because God wants His glory revealed in us. If we continue to sin against His will then we will find God seeking His glory to be revealed through and in us. You take a simple interpretation of Scripture and apply it to your whole life . . . live it for a while and allow it to speak to you personally. Stop cookie cutting God for your own life . . . His word says what it says to draw us closer to Him. When Jesus spoke of Love it was not in a pornographic way. Men with other men and women with other women was never a part of the great plan of God.

I was reading along with cglennh's responses. He was absolutely right. Everything he said I could verify in the Word of God. At least I checked unlike many others. None of his comments were meant to criticize others. They took it that way due to their own immoral lifestyles. You took away his right to speak on this sight. You are two-faced. You told him to stop speaking the way he was speaking and yet you overlooked every bigoted, sour, hateful, lesbian, homosexual, american that said very very hateful things to him. They don't know who he was. Was it even a man? I believe he was as per his comments. You state in one post to me that "I am wrong". Matt you are wrong. And that is the only way to put it. There is no need to try to say it another way.

There you go . . . you've got a piece of my post now . . . perhaps you would like to silence those who try to spread the truth. Regardless of sinful people believing the Word of God they will be judged by it. Christians don't hide behind the word of God, they live by it. Yes they make mistakes, but they at least seek forgiveness.

God is a God of love but not according to our understanding of love. I've lost loved ones in my life and praise God for His grace in my life to bring comfort and strength to me during those times of need. You have no idea of what God has done in my personal life.

I pray for conviction on our lives . . . that the Lord would bring more trouble upon us . . . Lord bring the fire upon us until your people repent and turn back to you. Notice, I include myself in this group. I do not ask for something I'm not willing to go through with the rest of you. Lord, bring down our Nation, bring destruction natural disasters, bring fire upon our homes, destroy our pride, destroy our arrogance, Until we turn back to you as God in Heaven and Earth. Until we turn back to Jesus as Savior of our lives Lord bring the torment upon our families, take our jobs from us, destroy our economy, let us lose our jobs - - - - those who do not follow you, love you, walk according to your Words and commands. When you see the Christians untroubled during this time of torment, but constantly praying for this place to turn to God, don't be shocked. They knew who to turn to all along. If you do not know Christ, turn to Him. My greater plea is that people will turn to God, who cares about what we want personally. God wants us to turn to Him and will do whatever it takes to turn our hearts.

Lord hear our cry until we repent and follow you faithfully . . . Let this be an honest word, heard by the Lord and answered even today!

And presidents invariably begin their terms by adding the phrase "so help me God" to the oath required by the Constitution, thus continuing a tradition begun by President George Washington himself. These are not merely antique anomalies. They are expressions of our American tradition that there is a God whose assistance we call upon and who is the author and guarantor of our individual rights.

Get real! God created the world - He established Christianity and nothing that was made was made without His Word - which is Christ.
