An incredibly strong statement from Nneka Ogwumike on behalf of the WNBA Players Union and a good example of a Union benefiting its members with a powerful CBA (Collective Bargaining Agreement) which not only raised women athletes pay but added paid maternity leave, a much needed benefit for these athletes.

It's be great if the 'measurement error' could be cut out by doing independent testing, but I don't see that happening.

I used the World Weekly News as a tool in class to teach students how to tell fact from fiction. It worked very well.

I value one man who stands against racism and bigotry more than all the racist charlatans who stand up for the national anthem.
In my own community I prefer to do other things that diminish racism and bigotry. We each have deifferent ways. What do you do?

That's interesting because when I applied for Social Security I used the original birth certificate from the hospital not a state record and it was accepted.

I have a friend in a similar predicament. His birth hospital burned down and has norecord for him. He was good enough to join the army for the United States but not good enough to vote. That's not acceptable.

It's hard enough to have enough money to buy insurance if you're not paid a living wage... unless like a cousin of mine, you inherit enough to afford insurance, good education, and a healthy lifestyle.

This is a good example for Labor Day of how limited information can used to pad corporate profits. There are many more examples that show how corporate self-interested decisions pass on costs to us as taxpayers and to society as a whole. For example private corporate-run-prisons cut training and rehabilitation programs in the name of cost-cutting but without training and rehabilitation programs, prisoners are more likely to be re-incarcerated. Prisons like that because they make money when prisoners re-enter their system.

More importantly prisoners have a difficult time when they leave prison without skills that could enable their employment. If they are fortunate to get a job with new skills they got in public prisons, they may become taxpayers rather than a cost factor. For private prisons the decision making is simple. When all factors are taken into account the decision making is obviously more difficult. The public needs to be made aware of the real cost and corporations need to be held accountable for those costs.

And I’m not sure if this is a secondary question or the primary question, how
many of those people are not registered yet, but will be registered this time?

Some will say the likelihood is slim but I’m not sure we have good enough baseline
data to make that inference.

Just a thought... what if the 24 million people who watched the GOP debate had spent that two hours working for really good local/state candidates who need support? Think that would make a diff? A vast majority of those people will not be voting for Trump, so how about giving our good city and county candidates some love? :-)

NOT the most important question to emerge from this report, but still a question or two.
How many of those "5.1 million non-dependent taxpayers who did not check the box, claim a health care coverage exemption, or report an individual shared responsibility payment" used assistance from a tax preparer and how many were submitted by an individual tax payer without assistance?
What IRS department, if any, is responsible for working with professional tax prep firms in order to inform them about apparent tax prep training deficiencies?

Certainly the first enrollment period focused on the BIG number, those insured through the ACA. The 2nd EP saw the picture widen to include interest in who was still uninsured, expanding Medicaid coverage, as well as surveys around ACA coverage. As you point out now the focus has shifted to insurance rate requests. The focus has essentially gone from a more unidimensional focus to an interesting but complex set of factors that are tied together.

Here are three questions that emerge from the many that might be asked.

1) Who is utilizing the new benefits and which benefits are being used?

2) How do different insurers approach the education and promotion of health benefit use? (how does that picture relate to rate change requests?)*

3) What do overall health metric changes relate to coverage/benefit use?

Answers to those and related questions will tell us a lot about how the new community public health model is working and guide continued planning.

* Here’s a personal observation. I have been astounded by the detailed as well
as the shorter versions of health information from my insurance plan (United
Health) via phone, email, and snail mail. A good amount of the information has
been useful and even included a monetary incentive if I got a ‘checkup’ in
June. I wonder what others are receiving and how the information is targeted.

I thought EA and GCA did an excellent job in enrollment period 2 of targeting the uninsured as well as developing plans, strategy and actions for coverage. What are your thoughts about ways, including new methods, to extend coverage in the next period?

I know what you're saying. Some folks aren't accounting for vortices turbulence. Orientation and vortices turbulence are are important with respect to the swimmers position relative to the sides of the pool and other swimmers' positions.
