My self-made story is still in the process of being written. Basically I started writing after I turned 40 while my family and I were living in Brasil and I was home-schooling my son. What started with an analogy called You're the Boat has blossomed into a self-published book, weekly blog posts for the past 7 years and speaking presentations, classes and workshops that help people see themselves with a fresh perspective. I'm currently re-writing the new and improved version of You're the Boat and looking to turning it into an on-line course, as well as a 40 minute Lunch & Learn. The Ultimate Goal for my Great Work is to create a business that will support and maintain my happy family while helping to make this world a better place.
Since I answered all three questions, do I get three chances to win the book?! ;)

Thank you Jen, for this reminder for me to look at all I have done this year, instead of beating myself up for what's still not finished.
I finished my book and have decided to publish it myself. So, I've decided to put together a Kickstarter project in order to pay for the printing and have even had a friend of mine help me create the video for it. I even signed up to take a business basics course.
I helped put together, and run our local events in town (which are growing beautifully). I've watched my son grow leaps and bounds into puberty and all the while I'm continually learning to support my husband with his new diagnosis of MS. Whew!That's an awful lot for just 7 months into the year. Even tho, I don't know how all of this will turn out, I'm going to raise my glass and cheers myself for showing up!

I loved your post! It's great to watch how you worked thru your 'shoulds' "So I figured out what was most important and that was continuing along the path I had set for myself". It's nice to see someone let go of beating herself up in place of moving forward.
One of the things I like to do to get myself back on track is take a walk around the lake with my dog Tootsie, swinging my arms and grooving to the music on my iPod. When I get back home I feel refreshed and ready to face my day. Most importantly, I try to remember to Savor my time, because like a piece of candy, life's specialness is it's impermanence. http://burlapnbeads.com/201...

Wonderful post, Kathryn!! I totally agree with you! We're more likely to get whatever it is we go after. I'm reminded of the U.S. Declaration of Independence and our inalienable rights to "Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."
As for me, I'm looking forward to publishing my book soon! Squeeee!! And I've just signed up to host the 99% spring training in my community.
