Why they just say "no fit to feed the grid" "just for home use"
You connect them to an Hybrid Inverter like you do with a solar panel.
The HI connect power the house, charge the backup battery and take from the grid only if it need supplemental power.

I see the "connect to the grid" as feticism.

The problem is not the production of electricity or the loading of batteries (in a car).
The problem is not destroying the device and other things around (including humans).

It is like
"Did he figured of how to make fire yet?"

"Then why it is not selling it?"

Not sure the gas supply line is the best option as ground/earth. Usually it is connected to metal pipes of the water supply/disposal system.
This should disperse the charges toward the local water body. Other ways could just accumulate the charge locally, just in a bigger capacitor. Then rain and the charge is suddenly discharged.

Rossi believed the ecat would slowly lose power in these conditions.

I remember when Hot Fusion always was 20 years away.
I think still is. Or maybe I missed the 10 years away news recently.

What happened, we will know one tow years from now.
Others are working on the same field and products and time to market is no more a minor concern for everyone.

I would suggest they found a way (or believe to have found a way) to get rid of (my theory) the charge imbalance/accumulation that happens when they directly produce electricity with the NGUs and don't use the charge/energy immediately.

It is the only thing that make sense if Rossi talk of "real ground of the grid" and not just "local ground". The Twezy worked because cars discharge static electricity down the wheel to the ground (and a car track is very large ground) and prevent accumulation. He also (in the past) told there was no problem for naval application (water conduct electricity and an ocean/sea/lake can surely take a lot of charge).

My hypothesis is that, the process cause an accumulation of charged particles (electrons) that need to be used or dispersed or they will reduce the efficiency of the process or they will suddenly discharge when the charge become too strong or what is isolating the charge become a conductor (usually when it start raining).

This would explain why you can not (actually I believe "should not" is more appropriate) charge directly the battery that power the NGU.

IMO, the car dissipated the charge around the track using the wheels.
Safe if done for a short time (and would allow the battery to be recharged).
Longer and you could have an accumulation of charge and a catastrophic discharge somewhere (like a tree).

In an old answer, Rossi explained his understanding at the time for SSM and the requirement of a ground connection (and what was a "real ground" connection).
The problem is many buildings has not a real "ground" connection, just a local ground.
Rossi told the power production of the e-cat would slowly go down, in this case.

I remember Maico Mazzocchi (the owner of the Tweezy) needed to build a specific interface to allow the NGU to recharge the Tweezy.
The Tweezy charge management stop if it doesn't detect a decent ground connection when charged.

Cars avoid building up static electricity thanks to the conductive compound of their tires, which continuously discharges charges to the ground. Furthermore, chassis components are designed to equalize the electromagnetic field, and modern tires include a special tread that facilitates energy dispersion.

The car was connected to the ground and could avoid problems because it was moving around along the track, dispersing the charge over a very large place for a not very long time. This would explain why Rossi was resisting a longer test.

It depends about how you are heating the house.
If you have a floor heating system with circulating water, you just need 25-30-35°C water (up to 45-50 if you need to wash your dishes).
80°C is for old radiators and it is very inefficient.

In some places you already have electric floor heating, where instead of warm water, they use an electric resistance. You just replace the resistance with the e-cat.

I have used grok (free) to make an image of the working of the NGU (based on the patent and what we knows about the working of the e-cat as vacuum extractor of energy)

The + side would attract the electrons but they should zip-zap thru the mesh and and on the ground plate behind. Same for the - side with positrons.

Adding a vacuum tube diode between the + and the ground would make impossible the electrons accumulating to the left ground to come back.

The problem, from my PoV, is the charge accumulate on two different grounds and you can generate heat connecting them using a resistor.
If you try to use electricity directly, there is an accumulation of charge if there is not a ground large enough to dissipate effectively the charge. This can and will lead to catastrophic and sudden discharges. And this is the problem with home e-cat/NGUs

That is socialist thinking.
It is not a nuclear bomb given out, it is an energy source.
What we want is fast global adoption.
Everyone should be able to get it as fast as they want it (and pay for it).

Every day we must wait for adoption and commercial use is a day where more people die, starve and have a life more miserable than what is inevitable.

Competition keep people honest.

Given the news about Japanese Companies investing in the field (they appear to be 5-7 years behind Rossi in development as they aim to heat generation like Rossi did in the past) I'm starting to be optimistic.

Too many people and companies in the field are pushing the development and the energy environment is becoming really desperate for solutions.

Can an electric field interfere with virtual particles creation and destruction?
If the field pull a charged particle on a direction and the other in the other direction and the device is able to get rid of one of these (throwing it in the electric grid ground connection).

IIRC, the diode is needed but the triode is not (but is useful to improve energy production)

Let's make an hypothesis:

The high potential difference between the electrode of the diode is useful to polarize the vacuum, this mean electrically charged virtual particles are created in couples but the electric field will attract one on a side and the other on the other side.
The magnet effect is to push a particle and pull the other laterally.
One go toward the magnet of the triode and get inside the triode, the other goes not against the other electrode[42], but against [38] that I suppose is connected to the electric ground and dispersed.
This create an imbalance in the circuit that allow charge to accumulate and energy to be used.

This would explain why high voltage is preferred and why "real" ground is needed and the reaction slowly stop when there is no real ground. Charges accumulate and the efficiency of the process degrade. Also, if the charge is able to find a "weak spot" somewhere, it suddenly dissipate releasing a lot of energy stored in a probably destructive way.

Or probably I'm rambling.

The big problem is real ground connection thru the grid.
There is no SSM without that.
Rossi explained, in the past, the reaction would slow down and stop without.
The year long test on YouTube was abruptly interrupted for some reason.
I suspect there was a charge build up that, in some way, reached criticality and discharged in a very destructive way.

A NGUs used at home would be contingent to the presence of a grid correctly grounded; in absence of that there is the possibility of charge built up that could discharge in the most inappropriate ways and moments (probably causing a lot of destruction of property, dead and wounded)

In the past was understood as "real earth ground" to the grid.

My worthless opinion is the earth grounding is needed to dissipate half of the charge (negative or positive) in the earth.
If the NGUs produce charged particles via ZPE energy extraction, keeping two clusters charged (one negative and one positive) in the same location will cause problems.

In the past, Rossi told us this:
without a real ground connection the reaction will gradually slow down to an halt.
This is coherent with an accumulation of charged particles that make increasingly difficult to extract further charged particles.

The short lived problems with the current industrial application could just be the NGUs needed to be shielded from each other with some ground connected Faraday Cage-type of things.

We don't know exactly (correct me if I'm wrong) what happened with the YouTube live experiment. I start to suspect Rossi, technically smart as he is, found a way to shield a SSM from this accumulation of charges but without actually getting rid of all the charges. Until there was a catastrofic break-down.

If the NGUs (e-cat) is a ZPE extractor that produce, directly, static electricity, the grounding is needed to dissipate the positive (or negative) charge.
If both stay in the same location, they start pulling toward each other and repel other particles with the same charge.
The device must have a size compatible with keeping two charges separated and distant.

You need ground connection for the SSM. We knew it for a long time.
I believe, grounding works even with a dead grid.
I continue to assume it is easier to feed FROM the grid when there is peak of energy consumed

The problem is the 5% malfunction (5% every year? every day? month?).
Apparently Rossi was just able to shrink the e-cat, not reduce enough the failure rate.
Maybe the failure rate just stay the same but it require a longer time to manifest.
It just moved from 1000x1KW e-cat to 100Kx10w e-cat (reactors).
Statistically this makes the random failure more tolerable (like with battery failures in a Tesla car).

The licensee is there to make money.
It want to sell power or hardware as fast as possible.
It could delay, if he believes large improvements can be made in the interim. But it would probably don't do it anyway.
