Color is all done on the computer. Photoshop, although I use a couple tricks to try and get a somewhat natural look with the backgrounds.

I'm pretty happy with this page. I like all the random elements. Great color assist by Kaezrer as well, he did all the cool multicolored lights in the barber shop for instance. Really adds a level of detail and variety to my work. I'll miss drawing those dreads though. :(

I'm pretty happy with this week's strips. Kaezrer did an amazing job on the color flats. Really detailed.

It's supposed to be the door knob that Mom has her hand on, I failed. Ces' hair will change up regularly, and I promise to get in some good classic Ces pouts in there soon. Next week even I think.

Great feedback! I love to hear this stuff, lets me know if I'm on the right track. I think i had a breakthrough with Ces' hair starting next Wednesday's strip but let me know. I'll ease up on the booze noses as well.

Awesome guys! Love the feedback. I take all this stuff to heart and I feel it'll make me a stronger artist.
One of the good things about working on a 3X a week comic is that style evolves at a pretty fast rate. Obviously color throws a real wrench in the works but so far it's been pretty fun. Anyway, i'll change up Ces' hair as soon as there is a moment in the story that allows it. Glad most people are digging the backgrounds as well, that's been where most of my focus has been lately, trying to figure out a look that works.

I like how panel 3 came out, but that's about it. Still finding a style but getting closer. Zanthar, you're right about Ces looking weird in the first panel. I'm not happy with it, but the idea behind it was solid; I've been trying to change up Ces' expressions a bit. I fear she suffers from 'sameface' and I want her to be more expressive. I'll work on it. Try to make her sexy without a constant pout.

My wacom was down when I did the colors on this so i was worried it would look really bad, but seeing it in the morning it's probably the strip I'm happiest with so far in the reboot. Great job by Karzrer on flats and cool colored lettering by Chris.

Thinking the same thing draconi, but might be too similar to another character in another book by Chris & I that you'll see soon, it's on the right track though. More Brit Mod than Scene kid. I'll keep at it.

I'm happy with Harms new look, and I think Ces will change up her hairstyle every once in a while. I never understood why characters always have to have a uniform and wear the same clothes/hairstyle all the time. I'll mix that up a bit as I go.

I'm getting happier with the coloring on the figures but now the backgrounds are bothering me. I'm not sure I have the patience to do anything other than loose and sketchy/painterly. I also wish i could make everything look 'wackier'. We'll see as it goes.

I have some issues with Jimmy myself. He was supposed to be more handsome with this reboot but i couldn't make it work for me.
We'll see how the story plays out and then maybe I can get a better handle on the character. I sort of liked him better when he was a weird monkey man who spoke in pixel art, and not a heartthrob with almost unlimited power. Hopefully this new Jimmy will be somewhere in between. That's just me though, I'm wrong about everything. If Bobby had listened to my suggestions on Last Blood it would have been a total disaster for instance.
Chris is much better than me at reading the pulse of the readers. I've also just finished a sketch of Jimmy for CPP that is a little closer to a look that will work for me.

I was trying something new with the hair here, and how it was drawn, but I'm not sure if it'll stick. I also just realized that in the newspaper article Sawyer is colored like his mom and vice versa. What's some more trivia? Sawyer's Mom is sorta based on Paula Dean, since food network informs everything I do.

Thanks for the feedback on the art, really helps me a lot. I'm thinking the line weight is still a bit thick but the garish bright colors are ending up working better than i though initially. And PB, about the eyes through the hair and eyebrows overlapping the cap thing, that's all a stylistic choice, but I'll play around with it. There was actually a bit of a discussion on the CPP board about this subject. I had drawn a couple pin-ups without the see through hair and most feedback preferred the stylized visible eyes. I'll play around though, this new approach lends itself to some experimentation. I'm trying to throw in a bit of wacky FLCL style movement and madness into the work.
Also, it's not up on the main page yet but my good friend Kaezrer is helping me with the colors, doing some amazing flats.
And wait til you see our work on BARKER...

The art style is still sort of a work in progress. I'm having a bit of a time with it but it should stabilize around strip 10 I hope.
