At the same time i think if you did get an i pad you would be super happy with it. The applications are very much like what you would get on a mac just set up for touch. Desktop class apps. IOS lacks in many ways but it's still a really great user experience. Before i bought the ipad i thought hmm this might just be like having an iphone. I quickly realized how it's nothing like that. I can only compare it to my mac. IOS is fueled by the native apps so if you like using application on your regular computer i don't see how you wouldn't enjoy an ipad. You get I-Movie, Garage band, photo booth, sketchbook pro, so many other pro music apps with midi support, ink-pad vector graphics software, and the list really goes on. I think IOS5 will implement all the things everyone hoped it had to begin with. I will say if it stays the same and only changes a little then you can bet a windows 8 tablet will be my main tablet of choice.

Re: Live from Microsoft's Windows 8 preview event at Computex 2011!

Why do you hope it hurts IOS sales? I think it's awesome to have this choice and i think windows 8 is really awesome. At the same time i love my ipad and it's a very similar experience to a mac. You get some really great desktop class native apps on ipad. I think apple and Microsoft will now run the tablet market. While i know IOS is lacking in many ways i really think IOS5 is going to be rather surprising.

Re: Live from Microsoft's Windows 8 preview event at Computex 2011!

This is pretty exciting stuff man! I think Microsoft just seriously nailed it for tablets. I've always liked windows and i love apple. I really think this is going to be a great thing for the market. Having this choice is going to be awesome. I love my ipad and i love the desktop class native apps that ipad offers. Some of them are very handy and i use daily. I think windows 8 on a tablet is going to be a wild thing and i'll most definitely be getting my hands on something when this comes out. I think this is going to change the game for windows phone 7 as well. If you read my comments you know that i love all technology and of course i'm a huge apple fan BUT i think windows 8 is going to give everyone else a run for the money. Lets not forget that while we know apple changed what the tablet is and revolutionized it microsoft had been doing tablet work for so many years successful or unsuccessful i'm sure they know a whole lot about tablets. I think this is why their touch panels are so smooth and zippy.

Re: Microsoft unveils Windows 8 (video)

def agree with you on that

Re: Microsoft unveils Windows 8 (video)

I agree with what your saying. maybe they will tackle this problem and somehow make it work.

Re: Microsoft unveils Windows 8 (video)

Yea but you can turn the Metro UI off and windows is still set up for touch

Re: Microsoft unveils Windows 8 (video)

you have the option to turn the metro UI off though.

Re: Microsoft unveils Windows 8 (video)

I hope it does real well. It's great to have choice in the world! Apple, Windows/Microsoft, Google/Android. These are all brilliant technology companies. It's funny you read some of these comments and all i can think of is that Louie CK bit where he points out that everything is awesome and no one cares. All of these companies compete with each other on a friendly level. They all know that the others are great. They all help each other out in a way. I think this OS will be wild for tablets. If they can get the battery life right then it's going to really be crazy. Native windows apps like photoshop and other big software running on a tablet. I'm interested to see what's to come!

Re: Microsoft unveils Windows 8 (video)

You should already have a mac!

Re: Microsoft unveils Windows 8 (video)

I wouldn't go that far but this is definitely going to be an interesting OS no doubt.

Re: Microsoft unveils Windows 8 (video)

I use pretty much all technologies. I'm more of an apple guy then anything but i used windows for years and still do. With that being said i think this is going to be a pretty killer OS for tablets. I'm not sure about desktops or laptops though. I think what will make this cool is the option to run the real native windows apps on a tablet. So for example it looks like we will be able to run the full version of photoshop on a tablet. Now i'm not sure how effective this will be on a tablet but i know apps like sketchbook pro and inkpad for ipad come in real handy if your a designer/ graphic artist. So if you have a meeting with a client you can grab your tablet and run the real windows native software. But battery life is going to be an issue so i wonder how that will come into play. All in all i think it's pretty interesting and i'm excited to see more of it. I hope they follow through with this though and not let the windows fans down.

Re: Live from D9: Microsoft's Steven Sinofsky talks Windows and more

When do you guys think the video from the D9 will be available?

Re: LG Revolution coming to Verizon tomorrow for $250 on contract

Is it going to run stock android!?!?

Re: Motorola Droid X2 ready for May 26 launch?

I think you might have just had some bad luck with the specific handset you got. Because battery life is great on the droid x for me under normal use. I mean i've got no complaints with this handset it's solid and works really well and it's super fast. I personally wouldn't go for samsung i'm not a fan of them at all. I don't like their displays and i think they are pretty unoriginal. But of course this is just my humble opinion in no means to sound like an ass hole. I"m sure plenty of people love samsung they just aren't for me. If you look down on all the comments you will see that there are a whole lot of people who have had great experiences with the droid X. I think you just had some bad luck dude. I do agree about moto blur but launcher pro takes that problem away and makes the phone run much smoother. I agree that one shouldn't have to do that but i don't think the samsung UI is much better. It's very laggy and it's very iphone looking. My gripe with samsung is that they have no originality. They use very plastic feeling cheap hardware and their UI skin looks and feels like an iphone. Motorola implements better design in their hardware as well as making it solid.

Re: Motorola Droid X2 ready for May 26 launch?

dudee don't do that! i felt the same way so i grabbed an i phone 4 and guess what... i never use the front facing camera. Well not never but not a lot. Even though many of my friends have iphone 4's most of them especially girls feel weird about doing face time. I was all excited about it and then discovered hardly anyone even wanted to do video chat. Motorola makes excellent hardware in turn making it an excellent stand alone phone. The X gets such good battery life as well. Just my personal opinion. I'm not a fan of samsung. I've reviewed the The S line up and even though the specs say they have a better display they don't look better then the droids x's display. Especially with the 2 having the qHD. I think you will be unsatisfied with a samsung device. The build quality isn't all the great in my opinion.

Re: Motorola Droid X2 ready for May 26 launch?

I enjoy my droid x as well. Would have really liked a front facing camera for the 2 though. That great thing about this phone is... it's a great PHONE! The speakers are very nice and clear. Calls sound excellent. The mic's are awesome. And it feels great in the hand. It's built very nice. Motorola does a good job at making their devices solid. They are also pioneers in the cellular phone industry. All of the other things about the phone are pretty excellent as well. Except that the camera app works pretty slow and the pictures aren't the best. Blur doesn't matter much when you can get launcher pro. But honestly the Droid x would be so much sweeter if it was a pure google experience. Either way i'm a big fan of the Droid X. The qhD display will be very nice. I just wish i could update sooner then when i can. I have both the Droid X and the Iphone4 and i love them both. The Droid X also has excellent battery life in some cases lasting longer then my iphone. Great phone! I was up bitter about it for a while because i had a case of bad luck and got defective ones but as soon as i got one that worked with no problems i quickly realized how great of a phone it was. It's very fast as it is. I Mean super fast. It renders webpages a lot faster then iphone to tell you the truth. And i'm a huge iphone fan but in my tests i've noticed that the x really blazes when having to render a webpage on 3g. In my opinion it's the best android handset out there. Minus the blur skin of course.

Re: Samsung Series 5 Chrome OS laptop hands-on at Google I/O (update: video!)

Your definitely right about that i didn't see it in that light

Re: Samsung Series 5 Chrome OS laptop hands-on at Google I/O (update: video!)

I don't think it's interesting at all. Not to be a downer or anything i know google does some really cool stuff. But it's not a thing like Android. Android was kind of ground breaking in a way. I don't think many people are going to be interested in this. I think people would be much more interested in a version of android made for laptops and desktop PC's. I mean how much could you really do with this chrome laptop? Even with it only being used for the web. With all the tablets that are out now that run android & the ipad. For people who only want a device to mainly use for web browsing the tablet is the thing. Plus the tablet offers much more at competitive price points. I can't see anyone buying this thing. Maybe i'm wrong though.

Re: How would you change Motorola's Xoom?

I should have been more specific. I mean Android is there as an OS as far as UI and user experience goes. It works well and is pretty easy to navigate through.

Re: How would you change Motorola's Xoom?

Android is there as an OS. The problem is the hardware isn't taking advantage of the specs that are inside the xoom. For example when you change the screen orientation it takes like 2 minutes to flip over. For a dual core tablet you would think that it screams but it's really not as fast as one would think. Mobile flash still needs improvement. If you do a side by side test of 2 xooms 1 tablet with flash turned off and the other with it on you see how laggy and slow flash makes browsing the web. When flash is turned off on an android device the web experience is much like the experience on an apple product. It's super fast! When i try to go to a site that's completely in flash it hardly works. That's what i mean when i say flash needs to be better. Not because of viewing video. For a real flash experience such as a webpage that is done in flash. I'm a big fan of Android and Motorola. Motorola makes very nice hardware. It just doesn't take full advantage of the specs. I own the ipad2 and i'm always open to whatever the next best technology is but the ipad2 is super fast, it renders webpages almost as fast as my macbook pro, and i get to use desktop class native applications.

Re: Sleek Audio terminates agreement with 50 Cent, puts over-the-ear plans on hold (updated)

He was promoting sleek like crazy on thisis50.com.
