I think you may be right about #4 - I recently spoke to a blogger who says she actually does use Wordpress' iPhone app to blog: she'll write a draft on the subway, then check it and publish it when she gets home. The classes discussed in the post were offered to Steve Sherron as part of his partnership with the Charlotte Observer. I'm not sure if they would make the materials public, but I bet Steve would have some pointers about advertising and how to best go about it on your blog (I'll make sure he sees your comment).

I'd also recommend checking out http://www.problogger.com, which is an excellent resource for any blogger who is thinking of going "pro". Another excellent resource is http://www.hyperlocalblogge..., which is a great tool for hyperlocal bloggers like yourself.
