Immaculate Conception refers to the birth of the Virgin Mary without the original sin. Virgin Birth refers to the birth of Jesus.

Re: The 30 Ugliest Former Child Actors

I don't know who the idiots were that decided this but let's see their photos.

Re: APD investigates murder in NE ABQ

When did it happen?

Re: A Letter From Bill Moyers

The deepest regrets that your observations will be a bit limited, but like Jim Hightower, you are indeed the real "eyes of Texas." "Common sense" was another phrase that was missing.
You can throw around all the rules, guide lines and catch phrases you want, but even a white lie is a lie.
The basic rule I learned in my journalism career and from some very experienced teachers and friends is trust . And if it is violated there must have been an honest answer we did not pursue.
Sometimes chats and comments for a news gathering association are no more than the traditional "man on the street," to pacify and not answer.

Re: KOB.com - School preparedness for H1N1 questioned

I could have sworn in the English language it should be, "School (Preparations) for H1N1 Questioned." Ask Bruce King and Patsy Madrid about Gary Johnson.

Re: To sin tax or not to sin tax

I have no problem with another "sin tax" as long as I know where the funds are going. Is this just a piggy bank for the Legislature or another MADD lobby fundraiser?
A message though, to the Legislative Democrats. The tea bag tax revolt fans are still in the wings. There was some kind of messages from the GOP in yesterday's elections. The next national and gubernatorial elections are coming up. Let's hear from Diane Denish or is Tim Eichenberg right?

Re: Berry’s nomination for ABQ top brass may rest with progressives

I lately find something very wrong with any actions by City Councilor Brad Winters. Even the nomination of David Campbell and Winter's reaction. “Campbell has been coming before the council for years representing clients against the city and he’s a registered lobbyist for NAIOP [a commerical real estate association] and the homebuilders,” Winter said. “It’s a conflict of interest, I just don’t think it’s a good now for him to try to be on the other side and will not be supporting his nomination.”
In case anybody forgets, take a look at who is playing both sides in the First Baptist Church land sale. A recent Journal story quotes Winter as a land developer and planner for APS and they want the downtown land. Who is in competiton for that same land but the city of Albuquerque for a possible events center. Is Winter representing APS or the city in the First Baptist Church land sale?

Re: Excuse me officer, can I be a reporter.

This type of situation has been going on for a long time especially affecting TV and print photographers. Wow! It finally hits a reporter who went out in the field and it's suddenly an attrocity. Thank the photo people who go where many reporters are too lazy to go.
By the way, the ego of the media, expecially some reporters who are quick to judge is just as dangerous as the police or others of authority whom those same critics oppose.
Also, there is an old saying that says when a news people don't have anything to write about, they write about themselves.
