Inbound marketing is just an underexploited channel that reduced CAC for while, but is rapidly becoming efficient as companies start to hire teams of journalists to create content.  It's still all about LTV/CAC.  My company Influitive produces advocate marketing software which radically lowers CAC through referrals and other advocate activity, but I'm not going to call that a 3rd way.
