In the midst of all this rhetoric, the fundamental question of "rights" of anyone to anything is always suspect. In simple commonsense terms, no country should put up with illegal migrants at all. Nobody wins in the end.
In the case of children born to illegal entrants (criminals) it would be/is not sane to separate them from their parents. Of course they should be sent back with their parents. It was their parent's deliberate decision.
More, we all need to look logically at the end result of ANY immigration in numbers.
Legal or otherwise.
In the UK and France, it is estimated that within just one more generation, Islamic Fundamentalists will legally be of such organised numbers as to bring about their almost prehistoric social beliefs LEGALLY.
As the numbers show in the USA, within fifty years the basic ethnicity of the population will be Latin/Hispanic.
In far off Australia, the ever-weakening determination of the government is seeing massive increases in illegal/criminal migration to the nation at ever-increasing cost and risk to the fundamental social structure that makes the country so attractive.

In fact, despite the possible cost, all criminal migrants should be jailed.
In the UK and Australia and no doubt the USA, thousands of illegals break the laws of those countries with impunity multiple times!
There is no risk to them to try again.

I am personally sorry that their lives may be wretched in their home countries, but it is back there that society needs to be changed. Certainly not with the insanity of an imported vicious pre-medieval Religious never-ending war.

The common use of "other cases" in no way should detract from the initial facts involved. Islam - the cover name for several violent groups intent on literally destroying each other (note the muslim-vs-muslim bombings in for example, in Iraq right now).
Islam is about the same stage of evolution as the principal Christian religion Catholicism was a thousand years ago. In fact, the innate violence of each is identical.
Make no mistake - the muslim creed is not based on the Koran any more than the Christian creed was based on the New Testament in the last 1000 years.
Today, the Christian "mother" Church is about burned out. Thankfully.
BUT, the the other much younger offspring of the same origin of Judaism - Islam is still in the 12th Century, relatively.
Both determined to overthrow the rest of the world and impose their beliefs - always with violence. One pulled it off to a very great extent, thanks to very nature of the Caucasian penchant for violence.
However, the primarily Arab world of Islam has never been that good at any Science, let alone the great one of War, thanks to the social instability caused by the mistreatment of women. Hence the status today.
Even tiny Israel has beaten the Islamic/Arab world 3 times despite overwhelming odds. (Maybe the old Testament God is on their side??)

The problem faced by modern Islamic dreams is that they still fail to grasp the danger of annoying true Caucasians. They actually do believe that rhetoric counts and insane insults like the two proposed Muslim monuments in mainland USA somehow aids their cause to either convert or kill all non-muslims.
They actually do believe that they can subvert the west politically using the true freedoms of the Western nations against them, politically.

The Arab mind has little or no connection with reality. The very stifling of freedoms of speech and science in their fiefdoms for a 1000 years, leading to monstrous lies about Arab science - even claiming the zero - and their non-existent "cultural achievements" - primarily from India and borrowed from Europe, will be of no avail.
Why? The West is long overdue for a "good" War. It's in the genes, I fear.
And I fear that the reaction from the two most violent groups on the planet: the English and the Americans, may be very soon.
Their people will be jobless and hungry and..... looking for a fight.

Yes, it has. It has been even more effective in the USA, where the Christian Xmas has been banned in many venues in case it offends the Muslim minority.
What offends me is the noise of Islam. Ever lived near a mosque? Once the "crier" was a post for a really good muslim voice. Now they use megaphones and make no mistake, mosques breed mosques... quickly.

Harry, you will need to do a lot of reading. The Law in either of these jurisdictions has little to do with "the letter of".
As your "Patriot Act" was passed, a friend of mine who was a Russian polymath - ex- commander of a Special Services Battalion, a Physicist/Mathematician and Doctor of International Jurisprudence, commented to me that not in the wildest dreams of rulers of the USSR could such a travesty pass into law.
(What the Rulers DID was different, of course...)
To understand Law is to see its actual application. (In some countries, previous interpretations hold sway)

Ha! Very Funny! BUT:
People today are even more confused about sex than they were in the Victorian era.
There is sex and there is to use that thrashed and maligned word... love.
Two entirely different but related things.
What the reasonably normal of us are doing is searching for all the components of adult love.
Companionship, sexual satisfaction, friendship and above all else, someone to trust.
She/he is not going to be found in some Bar.
Specifically, she/he is never just looking for a screw.
Primarily - primitively, that is - the males job is to fertilise as many females as he can get at. Hers is to deny all but the most suitable males to produce healthy, strong offspring and be a protector/source of food.
It used to be fairly safe and fun in the times leading up to the late sixties.
Then something happened. Female standards dropped like a stone. Real scientists trace it to the arrival of synthetic hormones first in the Pill and then the food manufacturing industry.
Females were not like today, fifty years ago.
It wasn't just fear of getting pregnant, they had societal/primitve standards of behaviour (see above).
Today, both sides are totally confused.
They need to try celibacy - sorta.... just stop screwing each other like low order animals and show some restraint. Set a standard for you and the her/him you really want and just wait. Then magic happens.
Try IT for six months.

PRESTIDIGITATION. A word everyone should understand.
The true contention here is a simple one:
Christians can be killed in without further cause under the mixed beliefs of "Islam".
To understand it one needs only to look at the Catholic Church during its peak of power and the "Inquisition".
The convoluted branches of Islam are the same as very early Christianity. Before women were granted any human rights.
Islam is mired in the same time period that Catholicism/Christianity has grown out of in the last many centuries. It is firmly stuck at the point in time when women were less than a good donkey.
It is stuck there for precisely that reason.
But, make no mistake. Islam is an evil force. It is malevolent by nature and as insanely dedicated to the overthrow of civilization as Christianity was a 1000 years ago. The difference is that Christianity evolved and Islam has not.
THe argument is not over where or how mosques should be built, it is the peoples innate grasp of the insidious nature of this invasion. And make no mistake, it is an invasion, a massive assault using oil billions on the weakness of the free world.
In the West, you will not be cruelly killed for saying something disagreeable. Your sister will not be killed for talking to an unrelated male, or flogged for being raped (it is her fault for being available).
Islam is fundamentally like inviting a re-run of Nazism.
To allow it to grow in the free air of the advanced West is no different than allowing the Bankers to do it again.
To me it is still unthinkable that two developed countries would allow the horrors of Sharia "Law" to even exist in them, much less bow to them. (UK Sharia "law" is an ALTERNATIVE option to the law of the nation) (USA: give up Christmas and Christian symbolism so as not to offend the few followers of a pedophile)
The West is Christian. If Islam is so wonderful and a "better ideal", what are those Islamics doing in the West?
I was horrified recently to see way out in a small country town in Australia, an Islamic couple in a supermarket - she totally garbed head-to-toe in a black burial shroud and frightening the elderly locals.
Final point - an elderly lady asked me what was wrong with her - was it leprosy?
No, I replied, that is the real face of a terrible threat to civilisation, like leprosy was till we stamped it out but it is a sickness, similar to leprosy that needs to be isolated.... again.
I'm frightened of it too.
Unlike most of you - particularly the supporters of Islamic "rights" - I spent years in Islamic countries. I know what they are truly like. I'm an old-fashioned male - but it can bring a tear to my eye whenever I think of those half a billion mothers trapped in the horror prison of Islam.

They are not hard to catch, obviously, just impossible to get punished.

Unless punishment fits the crime, we cannot win.
This isn't a game of chess or even a shoot 'em up video game any more, the level of profits being made are astronomical, because the invested capital is only a few smart kids and a few tin boxes and the risk is laughable. It is virtually all tax-free profit. Better than owning a Bank.

Some of us who have spent years in international marketing in the "real world" have our biggest problem not just with the totally immoral marketing activities that we find on the Net.
It isn't just that for the most part they are scams and so poorly executed that it really serves the suckers right, it is the complete lack of legality out there in the "Cyberbog" (as Kylneth named it years ago).

It is: How do they get away with it?

There are theoretical controls in place e.g. http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/guid... for the USA
and not a single hustler's website I know of could qualify.
I've done business in the USSR as it died/was torn apart, and THOSE were "Wild West" days, but at least there was a convention to pretend things were legal.

Doesn't anyone ever get mad and demand their money back? Or, better still call in the Feds?
Doesn't anyone ever ask Clickbank about those spurious claims of millions made by 17 y.o. kids wearing Walmart T-shirts?

I didn't listen to the "Pesky Gurus" recording it was not listenable on my system, but the title triggered off this comment!

As a young psychologist trainee I was given a case history of a young child who came from a "disturbed" background who persistently drew pictures in which the only colours used were black and purple.
After we all drew our own conclusions of deep disturbance, it was revealed that the child only had two colours, she had used up the others.......

Emails, like traditional phone calls are not perceived as serious - despite the fact that people have been jailed/executed on the "evidence" of a frustrated threat.

Well, this is an area of almost total lack of understanding by most people.

The reason being that we are talking about extreme fringe activity. The magic of the "curve of normal distribution", which at one end has females shrouded like dead bodies and having zero human value once the marriage price has been paid and at the other end - the female killers in the new movies, vicious and looking more like the "girl-boys" of Asia, strong-jawed, 6 feet tall and the models for the desperate girls trying to look like these androgynous creatures, spending hours in gymnasiums, weightlifting - for hevvins sake - and awkwardly running for miles in tight plastic clothes in order to look like a cute boy in drag - muscles an' all.

The key to the problem isn't the porn industry it is the advertising industry. The money isn't in porn - it is a tiny but wealthy industry. The money is in movies and tv.

The problem is that men have been totally devalued in the last 30 years (deliberately) and aided and abetted by the misguided feminists who have confused equality with sameness.

The Ad industry with ever younger and child-like models and the creation of "miniature" sexy fashions for toddlers, created the need for women to suffer "real low bikini-waxes" to look younger and younger as the icons.
All of this topped off with foul-mouthed filth created by the Black American Music industry with its onstage treatment of females - often white that finally devalued the last shreds of female differential as the higher sex.

No, it isn't a problem of the porn industry. It is the creation of the movie industry/Ad industry which has dictated the acceptable and ideal moral standards since the 1920's.

The figures bandied around about the Porn industry are as fake as the number of users on the Internet.
I know a major - or ex-major now - Porn producer in the international market. He used to break-up at the figures quoted that people in the business made. He was the creative Director of one of the world's largest Ad Agencies. The porn business was his sideline. He knew everyone in the technical business of movies.
The porn business was for testing ideas and people for the main game.
He quit both when the emphasis shifted to young children. But note, it was Madison Avenue that started it.
All education starts in the home. Unfortunately, no one is home most of the time. Mothers used to be....
The TV and now the Cyberbog(Internet) gets the attention. And the time.
Mothers put babies in front of TV sets..... to keep them amused. Even extremely young babies learn astoundingly fast from visual cues and clues and the whole purpose of modern TV is get and hold your attention - while they dumb you down.

As in all life, there is a rush of blooms - all fighting for the sunlight and over time, trying to cut off the sunlight for newcomers. The most useful device to understand the universe (and Google) is the magic of the Curve of Normal Distribution - romantically called by the Alchemists the "Bell of Life". It was understood in India 10,000 years ago, much like the concept of Null - different to the zero borrowed from them and claimed by the illiterate nomads called Arabs, as their invention.
Or we could say - "Everything has a time, a time to be born, a time to live and a time to die". Who knows what form the Internet will take in a year or two?
It sure won't be free and sure won't be for the peasants any longer.

Actually, Simon's comparisons here are very apt. As usual, though, any attempt to compare capitalist and socialist economies, is valueless (except to the opportunistic wealthy), unless the state of the population majority is taken into account as a priority.
Interestingly, these two countries are the best example of apples and apples comparison in the whole world.

The majority in both countries are in exactly, exactly the same terrible state.
Despite these two extreme examples of social control.

However, the next year will see something never done before - the technology simply wasn't there for the total control needed.
The USA is going to be "1984".
With UN resolution Agenda 21 , even the Patriot Act is eclipsed.

Actually, K.I.S.S. is still the best way to learn/remember anything in study. The best tool I found was an addin for FireFox (enough value to mean I'd still use Fox even if a better one was out there!) called quoteurltext .
It solved a need by capturing your highlighted selection, the URL, the time and date, and worked with postability to almost any program like my old favourite, NoteTabPro with its great content organising ability.

Later I found and lost a program that was great for writing articles. It monitored your chosen program and searched for references based on your text. As you were typing it was pumping out ideas/information/facts on auto.
Lost it in a virus infection along with years of work as backups were ruined as well. (BE CAREFUL OUT THERE)

In the last century, where I come from, theses weren't a test of originality or cleverness, the most prolific thesis subject in the world of the time, was on the gonads of the Fruit Fly.

The thesis simply showed how diligent a researcher you were and most points were gained by the obscurity of your sources. It took years to obtain, because research was manual and done in libraries and by plaguing people "in the know".

Sometimes, if you were wealthy as I was way back then, you used paid pheasants to do your legwork while you "networked". But, it still took time and effort.
Today, with the Net......................
On my own, today, my original thesis would take about 3 weeks - including printing and binding the hardcover copies AND the personalised copies for the reviewers.

What a world it is today. Enjoy it while you can!
