As a Man United fan, it's painful to look up the table and watch City and Liverpool battle for the title, but Sunday's match was a hell of an advertisement for why they're there. United has been looking for a player like Yaya Toure for about a decade now, it will be interesting to see how City face their run-in without him.

Sunderland and Cardiff are certainly down. I think Fulham may just escape after winning two straight, but Norwich's last few matches are brutal, including Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and that plucky mid-table side, Man United. Look for them to join Cardiff and Sunderland in the Championship next year.

UMore Park is a visionary project that I'm surprised more people aren't celebrating. The University has taken land that was essentially unusable brownfields and is turning it into a sustainable community that has the possibility to be a global example. Plus, it will undoubtedly be a more sustainable solution to the inevitable alternative developments as Dakota County grows. I understand Ms. Hendrickson's concern over having undeveloped green space, but this area was not suitable for public use until the University stepped in anyways.

While I understand the moral argument that music fans need to start paying for it, reality is that the industry has turned a corner and $12 for an album is never coming back. Just as journalism has had to adjust to switching from physical to digital (and continues to face many of the same challenges), the music industry needs to make the same transition. We won't be able to guilt trip people into buying more music - the industry needs to make a shift to a solution that reflects this reality and that consumers' will pay for. I know that I stopped downloading illegally once I signed up for Rdio, and while that isn't a viable business option for most artists, it does show that people are willing to make a switch to a fee-based model.

Also, I thought the David Lowery post was pretty awful to be honest. The piece would have been a lot more powerful if there was a concise, realistic alternative presented instead of 3,000 words of rambling, incongruent thoughts on the music industry.

Being in America, I often don't have the luxury of being able to watch midweek games live. However, I can follow along more intimately using Picklive than I could if I solely followed text updates on BBC. Definitely worthwhile even without a television.

My main point of contention is: "maybe you don’t have much sensitivity towards or empathy for middle class America, which is fine." I would say I DO have sympathy, because we are fueling the behavior that got us into this mess and I'm not sure they need more debt. It was a good thing they were putting off buying new cars. And yes, I realize the car companies and Obama needed this, but it shouldn't be ignored. But, that aside, what about poor people? We just ruined hundreds of thousands of cars that should have either been donated or sold to low income consumers. They can't afford new cars, nor can we expect them to be able to afford more efficient vehicles. And I love you. Just want to keep the tone friendly.

That just seems superfluous. We had similar "requirements" at a smoothie place I worked at, which were oft-ignored because they seemed too forced and impersonal (in direct opposition to their intended purpose).
