It was an error that was corrected. It's only 46% of Western expats who would leave if VAT was at 10 percent.

Maybe it wasn't clear enough. The point of the comments section on Doha News is not to be a protected free speech zone, it meant to be a place to engage with other readers. We want to ensure people feel comfortable sharing their views here.

That means that commenters who are using racially charged language, levelling insults to other commenters or just overall engaging in endless moaning rather than offering constructive criticism may want to find someplace else to comment.

The story clearly states that at the last Olympics, Qatar sent four women. This time, it is sending two. Despite the fact that more than triple the number of athletes are going to Rio than London, the ratio of men to women has worsened.

Yes, that's due to the wild cards offered four years ago - but still a notable fact to point out.

Well, to be fair, that's not really her role.

But the point of it all is this: On short posts like briefs, quotes and image posts - we've started doing them on the redesigned site as an experiment, to see whether those daily extras are worthwhile and valuable to our readers.

The point wasn't to send people to those posts - as they're not really articles, and folks would be disappointed if they expected that. They primarily live on the homepage, and are kept super simple, but we've included the ability to share them.

I think we are seeing that there's a point in doing more with them, and including comments on them makes enough. In the next design update (likely in March or April), we'll see how we can integrate them better - and include comments - while still not misleading readers into thinking they're clicking onto a full article.

Funny take on it. I think the notion that some ppl don't get enough exercise on a regular basis is one the main reasons to have Sport Day.
