There is no way the whole bible tells you this, in fact the core belief portrayed in the OT is that creation is good and as such vessel of divine light and love. This is reflected in much of the writings of both old and new testaments (although not all).

The evolution of faith, oh where to start.... Early Jewish text are polytheistic to turn monotheistic in later texts. In Early Jewish writing there is no afterlife at all then later there is, of sorts but heaven and hell is not introduced until the gospels and epistles of NT. We have the low earthy christology of mark and then later the high cosmic christology of John, Early Pauline letters are radically liberating while latter Pauline texts introduces much more restrictions laws and religious dogma.

The Bible is a wonderful, beautiful and sometimes horrifying collection of texts that is a conversation about the essence of the divine and what it means to live as a human in this divine creation that spans over millenia. To claim that the scriptures have one singular message is simply reducing the wonders of the biblical narrative to a jingle.

I think the church has told you all that and that you would be hard pressed to find biblical support for most of that statement. Christian faith has been evolving for as long as it has been around and before that the Jewish faith evolved and changed over time as is evident in scripture. Having said that, feel free to believe whatever it is you believe, make sure that the fruit of your faith is love as I try to do the same. If it is not I think we may have missed the mark!

Hi Shirly, I have to say that your question reflects a monogamous viewpoint (nothing wrong with that, but to understand a poly relationship one must at least attempt to see it from a poly perspective). When one experiences sickness or sadness instead of relying on the one to be there you may have several ones sharing your pain and caring for you. Also there is nothing fleeting in these relations, many are deep and persistent over long time.

Thank you for your comment, I am in full agreement with Col 1.15 that Jesus came to reveal divine love (after all god is love!). I find it of utmost importance to recognize that we are also created in godäs image and are carriers of the divine love. When spirit is awakened and active within us we are transformed in this love to become like god, love.

I think that Tantra is excellent for somebody that has suffered sexual abuse as it reframes sex as deep heart connected lovemaking creating a sacred container in which one can safely unpack and deal with past trauma. This of course is assuming one does not walk into a tantra school that uses shock and boundary crossing as it's main tool for spiritual progress.

It's actually the other way around, you can be a self preserving nine or a social nine or a sexual nine and it will alter the way your strategy (your number) is played out in practical terms. the same for each type of the Enneagram.
