Wrong doo doo brain, all the earlier 223 and 5.56 were the same, when the army started using longer bullets, they moved the start of the rifle groves further up the barrel, if you guns bolt closes easly you have no problem. This has been one of those old wives tells for a long time. It is the over all lenth that has changed most hand loaders pull the bullet further out of the cartridge than the factory anyway, no gap between the bullet and the barrel groves makes the firearm more accurate the larger the gap the more often the bullet will not launch sq. To the bore and you will have higher psi.
