Ironic that I'm leaving a comment via Disqus ... well anyway: you might have something to contribute to my cri de cœur, begging reddit for insight as to why customer service is so bad -- I'd love it if you could put your thoughts there.

As far as I know, there's nothing for iPhone users. In theory, a Project Fi subscriber can get a "data-only SIM" (I've done that), and again in theory, it should work fine in an iPhone --
the only limitation being that the iPhone won't be able to make voice calls, but it can still use quasi-telephone apps like Google Hangouts, and Facetime.

In practice, I tried this (gave the SIM card to my wife, who uses an iPhone), and it worked fine here in the US, but didn't work at all in London. So we bought a cheap SIM card from a vending machine at the airport, which worked fine.

I bought the Glider Gloves Urban Style Touchscreen Gloves but my phone's fingerprint scanner didn't work with them on. (Pixel 2).

I used `woman` for a long time, but gave up on it, I think because it failed to render a lot of pages.

Also, `man`, on a modern machine, is so fast, that there's really no reason not to use it.

Those look a lot like REI glacier glasses, of which I've owned a few pairs: each has fallen apart after a few years. Disappointing.

On the plus side, the leather things on the sides can be easily taken off.

I don't use speech-to-text often, because talking at my phone (in public) is somehow embarrassing. It's hard to explain, but I bet I'm not the only person who feels that way. And yes, I'm aware of the irony.

About transcriptions: "Google Voice" (which might not be available outside the US) does a pretty good job of transcribing voicemails.

I ride the 62, and used to ride its predecessor, the 16. Both times I've ridden the 62, the first bus to come by was too full, and left without picking anyone up. Even after boarding, both rides took almost twice as long as the 16 would have.

I disagree: the visual bell works fine on OS X, but only on trunk, and only in the last few months. If you haven't tried it since then, you should.

I find those regexes more readable when they're written like this:

(rx (group (zero-or-more (syntax whitespace))) (syntax whitespace))
(rx (group (zero-or-more (syntax whitespace))) "&")

Also, \\& seems to not be a proper regex.

I'm surprised nobody pointed out -- the magnetic plate from the TechMatte MagGrip CD Slot can interfere with NFC, if you're not careful. That is, before I put the plate inside my phone's case, my phone's "FareBot" app (which used NFS to read information from my transit card; https://play.google.com/sto... would spring to life when I put the phone next to the card; but after I put the plate in, the app either doesn't open at all, or else opens but displays a popup indicating an error.

I was able to get it working by putting the plate at the very bottom of the case, with its long axis perpendicular to the case's long axis.
