Besides the Alien creature, Giger designed the Space Jockey that is present in Alien and Prometheus, as well the inside of the Alien spaceship and the facehuggers. He also did a lot of artwork that was used in album covers and movie posters. I highly recommend looking up his work if you're unfamiliar with it. Many people have tried to imitate it over the years.

The first line of the trailer is somewhat intriguing. She says, "I believe that our guardian angel enters somebody close to us and protects us. I think my guardian angel is inside this black cat..." (cuts to girl with cat in cage)...
I knew Asia in high school....weird girl, not very friendly. Then again, I was a freshman and she was a senior. I'd be interested in how she spins her childhood on screen.

This movie was already made. it's called Akira. It came out in 1988, and it's great. Don't see why it needs to be re-made.

You should watch the movie "Monsters" by the same director. It's about people living in a world that is being invaded by giant monsters (sound familiar?) but the most important thing is that it is about people, not monsters. What you want, it seems, is essentially, monster porn - no plot, no emotions, just nonstop monster-on-monster action. There would be no movie.
I suggest trying some godzilla video games.

I thought the Peter Jackson movie with the rat monkey was entitled "Dead Alive" - perhaps that's the American title...anyway - that's a great film. ....

Anyway - I'd just like to say that $38,000 in 1968 is a lot of money. Just to make the comparison, I'm working on a zombie movie right now (it's actually a music video, so production time is much shorter), and so far, the budget hasn't surpassed $2,000. I think modern technology has really helped indie filmmakers lower costs immensely.
