It's largely tradition that drives animal protein use, according to Our World in Data .org and their Land Use Diets article, changing to non-animal protein sources would reduce land use for agriculture from 4 billion hectares to just one.
Now, a lot of cattle are fed on grass from otherwise non-productive land, but also huge amounts of good quality land is used to grow crops to feed animals to produce meat, a very in-efficient use of that land.

Nah, I was trained in Swedish/Esalen massage and the interaction between the masseur's and the patient's bodies are an accepted part of the therapeutic effect. For example they teach that if the patient is asleep, they miss part of the effect. It's not just about knotted muscles being massaged and the tension released, it's feeling the other person touching you as well.
I've had Reiki, it was nice.
But if I want something with any oomph, I get a massage with actual physical contact, even if they use towels and not oil.

Between 2011 and 2021, 300k+ people died in the Syrian civil, I believe many of them were women. Assad's forces were well known for packing 44-gallon drums full of explosives and dropping them from helicopters over civilian areas. I don't think he gets "was nice to women" on his tombstone. I doubt rights for women was high on Putin's agenda (Assad's other big backer was Iran, not fans of female liberation), Putin's soldiers didn't seem to have orders to protect women in Ukraine.

There's a decently-sized US-backed group that moved in from the SE in Syria, and there's also the Kurds in the NE, two pretty moderate groups (the Kurds have of late become more progressive, perhaps prompted by large numbers of Kurdish women joining their armed forces, and US influence).

Turkey is directly backing at least one of the major rebel groups in the North, that nation is becoming more regressive over time, I don't see human rights being on their top 3 objectives.

Am I saying that the eventual rulers of Syria will be nicer than a repressive dictatorship? No certainties there. But let's not pretend that Assad and his regime didn't rely on their General Intelligence Directorate (which received equipment and training from the Stasi), known for killing protestors, to keep the peace through violent measures.

Citation needed. I live in Australia too, even dirty coal reliably results in less pollution per km/mile than a petrol car because small engines like in cars (compared to grid-scale power plants) are so horribly inefficient.

There's clear ways to ask for consent non-verbally, even if you don't both know sign language. I knew my current fiancee was feeling the chemistry before I asked for a kiss on the first date, because I was taking it slow and making sure she was responding positively as I stepped closer to her. Takes experience to keep control of your own desire though.
