I will continue to study out the issues and candidates, though at this point, I will not be voting for the incumbent.

Unfortunately, far too many apathetic voters will simply vote for the name they see most. I would encourage them to perform their own review of the candidates, for the good of the city.

Re: Bothell City Council: Incumbent Spivey, two others to face off in primary - Bothell Reporter

I am new to Bothell, so have just begun learning about our city, its council members, and its potential future.

Two things bother me about Spivey.

First of all, porous sidewalks? Are you kidding me? Let's get a handle on the bigger problems in our community before we worry about something as frivilous as eco-friendly sidewalks.

Secondly, a city council that votes themselves a "250 percent pay raise in the form of a new health plan that covers not only legislators, but also members of their families," is a city council that is working for themselves. One should be a politician to help their community and their country, NOT to earn a paycheck. You cannot honestly be working for the good of your constituents if you have to think first about yourself and whether or not you will be "unemployed" if you lose the next election.

Do not vote to re-elect Del Spivey.
