My cats, Wiebel and Wobbel, are brothers and they chase each other around the apartment all the time. They have a constant rivalry on who should be pet first or who should be allowed on the rug. They never sleep together and they don't even like to play together. But every once in a while, I'll catch them being sweet to each other. Once, they shared a chair, and once, they were cleaning each other's heads. Those moments of affection assured me that even though they're not the cuddly cats I want them to be, they're still pretty inseparable. If we only had one or the other, I'm sure they would be sad.

I think when it comes to cats, there will always be cat politics. It's in their nature to have a social hierarchy. It's also in their nature to mellow out as they age. So maybe in a while, they'll be best buds :)

What date did you start counting your anniversary? Mike and I still can't decide if it's the day we met or the day we started dating "exclusively." He says he considers WWDC to be our anniversary, but I just can't accept that as the answer :P

Kudos for going vegetarian! I don't like to eat much meat either so I like looking for yummy veggie recipes. Gah! Bad little kitten. Are they microchipped? Tigger learned to escape really early on. When we refused to let him out, he would climb onto the screen door or curtains T__T. He later became an indoor-outdoor cat, but the next time I have cats they will be indoor only!

That was so sweet of you, Whitney!! When I was an admin for nearly 4 years, no one ever gave me anything! She'll be so happy when she gets back.

That's so funny! I've actually never made pie before, only cakes. I think the trick to frosting is giving the cake a crumbcoat, putting it in the fridge to set, then giving it a final frost. It's like primer for a wall, but like way more edible.
