As for Sanders running as an independent, hundreds of thousands of signatures would be required to run in every state, and by the time the part convention is held, the deadline in some large states, like Illinois will have passed. My guess is if Hillary Clinton gets the Democratic nomination, you will see Bernie Sanders endorse her at the convention!
What my biggest fear is that die hard Sanders supporters will stay home rather than vote for Clinton, if that happens and Trump gets elected you have only yourselves to blame!
Wake UP, Hillary is 100 times better than Trump or Cruz, if for no other reason than the makeup of the Supreme Court, which will impact all of us long after the next President leaves office.

Re: CNN Guest: San Bernardino Office Holiday Party ‘May Have Been Offensive’ to Muslim Gunman

I think it's you that have sunk to new lows, low intelligence that is, someone who thinks whatever they hear on Fox news is fact!

The Obama administration has deported a record number people here illegally, concentrating those with violent crime histories, so when you say they don't want to deport murderers, rapists, pedophiles, and drug dealers, then frankly you don't have a clue what you're talking about.

Re: CNN Guest: San Bernardino Office Holiday Party ‘May Have Been Offensive’ to Muslim Gunman

If you're going to start your argument by stating that President Obama is a devout Muslim, then you negate anything else you have to say as you are obviously out of touch with reality! Patricio Trent

The idea that "the flood gates are open" to an army of terrorists posing as refugees is a trope that is repeated ad nauseum by fear-mongering demagogues and is completely untrue. The vetting and processing of refugees is exhaustive and thorough. First, the have go through the UNHCR, then the State Department, homeland security and the FBI. They are interviewed, fingerprinted and have to go through background checks. The whole process takes up to two years. You can get a degree from DeVry quicker and easier than a refugee can receive asylum in the US. We've resettled 3/4 of a million refugees since 9/11, not one has been arrested for terrorism. Despite the horrible events of the recent attacks in Paris, you're chances of dying in a terrorist attack are tiny. Also, the Paris attackers were EU citizens, not Syrian refugees. In the US most acts of terrorism are done by native born, right wing extremists, not foreigners or Muslims. Terrorism is suppose to scare the shit out of people and it's always been an effective tool in doing so. Furthermore, if we choose to live in a free and open society, we will never be 100% safe from terrorism. Over a billion people enter and leave the US every year. We need to have good policing, good intelligence and effective prevention to keep ourselves safe but, if you want to to live in a hermetically sealed police state that is completely safe from outsiders, I suggest checking out North Korea.

Millions of people have come to America from every corner of the globe, fleeing something bad and in search of a better life. That is one of the defining characteristics of the American Nation. Trying to shut the door on those who come after us out of fear, ignorance and spite is un-American. One of our defining stories in our narrative is the story of Puritans who fled to America, who would have perished were it not for the charity and kindness of the native population. We've picked an auspicious time of the year to tell others fleeing violence and persecution to, "GTFO".

Re: Texas Governor to Refuse Syrian Refugees

I suppose most of you would disagree with this statement by the President

"I also want to speak tonight directly to Muslims throughout the world. We respect your faith. It's practiced freely by many millions of Americans, and by millions more in countries that America counts as friends. Its teachings are good and peaceful, and those who commit evil in the name of Allah blaspheme the name of Allah. The terrorists are traitors to their own faith, trying, in effect, to hijack Islam itself. The enemy of America is not our many Muslim friends; it is not our many Arab friends. Our enemy is a radical network of terrorists, and every government that supports them."

No, that was NOT President Obama, that was President George W Bush, right after the 911 attacks! Most of the hard line comments from Iran are rhetoric for their own followers, kind of like the stuff Trump spews out. Do you know for example that in the middle east, the country outside of Israel with the largest Jewish population happens to be Iran? (between 10,000 & 25,000, with up to 60 functioning Synagogues. ) Did you also know that when Iran was at war with Iraq when Saddam Hussain was still in power , Israel sold weapons to Iran and urged the US to do the same. (which the GOP hero Ronald Reagan did as part of the Iran/Contra scandal!) . Sure Iran has some policies we don't agree with, but even their support for groups like Hamas is more talk than action. Yes, they gave them some money, but refused to send troops to help when Israel invaded Lebanon in the 80s, and in the 90s pressured Hezbollah to agree to a cease fire with Israel. No, I'm not saying Iran are 'good guys', and there are some hard liners in their government, but what solution other than the agreement just singed does the GOP offer? Let's not forget , our key allies were also a a part of this agreement, why would they trust us again is we back down on this deal?

Re: Tom Cotton’s Truth Bomb

Rich Lowry seems to think this is much ado about nothing, but following on the invitation to a foreign leader to speak before Congress for the sole purpose of denoucing our President's policy tword Iran, this IS A CLEAR VIOLATION OF THE LOGAN ACT! Lets not forget we are a country of immigrants, I guess those words on the Statute of Liberty mean nothing to you, and lets not forget who was the only president to offer amnesty to those here illegally, the saint of the GOP, Ronald Reagan, the president who raised the debt ceiling 18 times without a peep of complaint, but President Obama's 3rd attempt leads to shutting down the government!
Agreed, President Obama has not been as effective as he hoped, but what do you expect when the stated goal of the opposition is to see that he fails! During President Obama's first term in office, Senator Mich McConnel said " The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president."
The GOP failed in that goal, but they have been fighting him on every issue ever since. Really, with all the problems facing this country, their number one goal is to see our president fail? When he got the bill, it showed it was partially paid for by his insurance, but he was responsible for the balance, which was beyond what my father could afford. He took the action of writing an angry letter to the doctor and hospital, stating that he did not ask for a consultation by that doctor, and the amount they'd already received from the insurance company was more than enough, and he dared them to come after him, since he refused to pay it! Surprisingly, he never heard from them again. It could have effected his credit rating, but he was retired, and his house paid for, so he was in a position to take the risk.

Re: Former Defense Secretary lays out disagreements with President Obama

Look, Malaki didn't want us to leave troops behind, sure we could have exerted more pressure, but ultimately it has to be their fight, we armed and trained their troops at great expense in both dollars and U.S. lives, and at the 1st sign of trouble whole divisions cut and run!
