Hope you enjoy some downtown before startups, PR firms and headhunters break down your door ;)

Re: The iPhone 4 is finally here – but is it really worth the hype?

This is why I need to hire an editor for my blog - good call, Dan!

Re: The iPhone 4 is finally here – but is it really worth the hype?

Definitely saw the response but that just proves that the products are competitive - something that couldn't be said about previous versions of the iPhone!

Re: Facebook may be “Big Brother”, but I’m not too scared

I agree with you J.R. that this is an inconvenience and Facebook takes an
all-or-none approach to displaying your activity. They seem to want users
to be highly social or not at all as more advanced customization used to
exist in this area before more recent privacy updates.

Re: (Aw)esome

Oh I agree with you that most girls I date don't like me that much! I just wouldn't want some poor guy to read this and think he had all the answers and then get chewed out for holding a door for a girl. I've personally gotten a ton of shit from a variety of girls for doing many of these things (except the coffee in bed - that's probably bullet-proof). All girls want to know that you care. They just want that presented in wildly different ways. And those that don't blog, will never tell you until you've completely f'ed things up.
All that said, great post!

Re: A fond farewell to Onedegree.ca

Don't you think that with fb/twitter/linkedin that there's enough of the web heading towards the lifestream model? Keeping a blog, as you suggest, to aggregate your voice in a traditional blog format will soon become a differentiator for your message. I mean, it's not like there's anything wrong with the blogging format, it's just not the latest fad anymore and therefore, not perceived to be as cool as it once was.

Re: Introducing nitchCraft: Exploring how entrepreneurs connect with niche audiences through media and content

Thanks for the comment, Susan - glad you like the title! It's a great sign to niche content creators everywhere that a brand like Molson recognizes that value in authentic content like Justin and Darrin are creating for their audience.
Hope we'll see more of Molson on the Hockey Card Show in the future!

Re: The Spoke Theory: To drive an audience, every marketing wheel needs a “hub”

I certainly agree that there's no perfect way to bring people from offline to online but this is where the idea of the value in short, memorable URLs come into play. With so many sites on the internet (and so many domain squatters) getting a short, memorable, relevant URL is just another challenge to holding consumer attention and bringing offline engagement online. The combination of a short URL and a memorable ad with the brand name prominently displayed is likely your best shot at retention, but seeing as how you don't even remember what the ad was for, it was likely something that wasn't speaking to you in the first place.

Of course, there's also the argument that billboards next to highways aren't the most effective media - as you pointed out, some of your concentration would've hopefully been focused on the actual act of driving!

Thanks for the comment!

Re: Social networking and scoring a ‘date’ in the world of digital business

Thanks for these additional notes - all really valid stuff.
