I never understood the hate for Tin Machine. The second album was weakly produced, but if you catch the live album 'Oy Vey, Baby', it's pretty amazing. Would have done really well post-Nirvana, I think.

Batman survived George Clooney. Amazingly, Clooney's career survived Batman and Robin. I'm pretty sure Affleck will at least avoid THAT low point of Batman portrayals.

Densmore did say in the interview that if either Kreiger or Manzarek had been struggling financially, he may have considered the licensing deals offered. But they weren't. So he didn't. Leave that marketing opportunity for a band like the Dandy Warhols that might need the money and the exposure.

It is a shame that the fallout over the Cadillac deal prevented Densmore from touring with Manzarek and Kreiger. Though I believe Stewart Copeland sued them for going on as Doors of the 21st Century without HIM. So it sounds like there was some bad mojo about the whole deal. But it is a lost opportunity, and we should be grateful for the ones we have on record.

Incidentally, I did get the chance to meet and jam with John Densmore at a drum festival a decade or so ago. A beautiful soul, he is. I hope something serious comes from this reunion with Kreiger in memory of Manzarek.

Ummm...he did. No original albums in years, and the cover album only to finish a contractual obligation. Give the man some respect. You may not like his final work, but he had a solid career and wasn't a prick about it.

Though I suppose it COULD be argued that poly-cotton is the work of Satan, so that's probably a bad example.

I would HIGHLY recommend the Podiobook, "How to Succeed in Evil". It is hilarious. Story of Edwin Windsor, evil efficiency consultant (Arthur Andersen for supervillains).

Nah - can't fault the milk. At least it's not an add for, say, jock itch creme or something. (Depends - for when you just can't stop for a potty break when fighting crime.)
