I've been a fan ever since you started UserOnboard and have used your easily identifiable slideshows as an inspiration for my app walk-through presentation for a job interview. It's been such a swell ride. I love your humour and writing and can't wait to see what you come up with.

Re: Snapchat Chat: Everything You Need to Know About Snapchat’s Excellent Messaging App

I love Snapchat and their new update. Every freelance copywriter should use a Diva List. Here’s why.

A great post overall. Keeping this on file for future reference. I think the Diva List is really helping freelancers (and anyone in business, really) in creating boundaries with clients.

There is one thing I'd do differently, it's the transaction charges. I suggest building it into the total project amount. I see that as our cost of doing business so it should be buffered into the quotation same as with all the overhead costs. Plus it's always better telling clients the amount you're giving them is NET price. Leaves everyone feeling happy.

Re: My Ideal Day as a Remote Programmer: Taking Charge of Your Daily Routine

I loved reading this, Colin! I run and read too. Glad to know am not the only one. Although I'm sure other people do the same but it feels awesome reading it here. I was just thinking that with Buffer team's current set-up, it's great that you don't have time spent for commuting. That helps tremendously in making sure you're spending your hours the way you want it to.

Re: Buffer in May: $6.4M ARR, Product Advancements and Self-Management Work

I am really loving these updates. Thanks for sharing. Always keen to read about the awesome things companies are doing to delight customers. Was there a turning that point that said, "we're at a good place to start delighting our customers?"

Re: Korean Immersion Tour with Hyunwoo

I love this idea! I like that most of the Buffer team members rely on intuition and that you've learnt to be more forgiving whenever bugs/emergencies arise. That and not letting the "need to get things crossed off!" kind of control ruin your day. I think it helps when you have something to look forward to outside of work. I found that since I started running, swimming, and learning Korean, I've definitely gotten better at priority-making decisions.

Re: Is Alcohol Making You Fat?

Bottoms up! :)

Re: Does Calorie Counting Work?

I understand the benefits of counting calories and have done it before but if I could avoid it, I will. I'd rather be more mindful of what foods I eat. Not all calories are made equal so I try to stick to more calorie-dense food. I think it's better to be a mindful eater than a calorie counter. BUT I do see how calorie counting can be the first step to becoming a mindful eater.

Re: 3 Hacks To Beat Jet Lag Every Time You Fly

As soon as I get on a plane I set my watch to the local time of my destination and try to eat and sleep according it so that I have the entire flight to get my body clock in that rhythm. I've done a couple of courses before but I still got a lot from this one. I'm excited to sit down again and do the worksheets. I'm a little stuck on the worksheets for Lesson 3 so I haven't had a chance to move forward from there but I'll make sure I do so next weekend. In the meantime, you've left me with a lot of food for thought so I'm letting those sit in my brain for me to ruminate. I think my biggest roadblock at the moment is that I'm not an entrepreneur but the work I want to be doing is closely tied to my professional growth. I guess in a way it's a personal branding dilemma because I'm looking to expand my capabilities to help bring in business for the company I work for but in the meantime, I need to build that expertise in order to grow my career as a whole, and for me I see creating content as a way to help both. Haha it looks like your next ecourse on Personal Branding is a good next step for me.

Re: LESSON 2: Reign It In

The Knowing vs Doing content worksheet helped clear me off the sticky cobweb of ideas. I think you used a good analogy (the gift tag) that gave me a better understanding of what knowing content is. I'm glad it's helped clarify where I should draw the line between knowledge sharing vs giving too much away. Also, thanks for saying 'your content will never be done." I needed to hear that because I get a little too caught up with trying to get my content perfect the first time, when in reality it will change and shift.

Re: Solving specific problems rather than trying to learn everything: My first ever video in Arabic (reading)

Great advice! I completely agree with this. Busy work does not automatically mean you get the best results from language learning. Same as you, I'm focusing on being able to converse with a native speaker. I may not know the Korean word for tree but at least I can ask my Korean friends how their day is, what they're doing, and if they want to meet me for drinks. Do you have a structure you follow though? Or do you speak to native speakers and fill in the gaps of your language proficiency as you go along?

Re: LESSON 1: Tame Your Ideas

Just finished Lesson 1! Doing the worksheets helped me realize I have a fear of being seen as an expert. However, working on my Past victories showed that I do have the experience. The worksheets really helped clarify my perpetual question of "should I mix personal with business in my blog?" And so I think from today on I know that I would need to use my blog in order to put a stake on my experience, blogging my way to achieve my Future visions. I'm absolutely loving how much clarity I'm getting already and it's just the first lesson!
