Focus on that and bring in the best to do the rest?

Nicola

Re: Why We Need Marketing General Contractors

You quite simply need a me! That’s what we do at Lime Cube Marketing. Funny how this post is so relevant to our company. I started the foundations of my career in media with a communications degree then I went in to advertising and worked with a small agency that grew and was eventually bought by Ogilvy. I took a break, had a baby and went to help my husband part time in Architectural services for a couple of years. Long story short - now back full circle in marketing and find ourselves putting together the structure, planning and bringing in specially selected people where required. We are four months in and winning new business. When I was in the agency at the beginning of my career my team all dreaded the “collaboration” because the client never took the lead role. That's what we're doing today. Wish me luck.

Re: Sponsored Tweets Launches: The End of Twitter As We Know It?

Don't mind who uses Twitter or how they use it. The audience will shift and change. If there's a constant stream of advertising the audience will shift. You can apply this to any social situation. If a group are discussing together in a space and someone comes in to disrupt the conversation. Some will challenge the disruption, some will ignore / filter, some will join in and some will leave.

Re: You are the Captain

Hi I've taken the step and set sail on my own ship together with my business partner. Instead of calling thousands of people we select two companies a week that we would like to work with. We look at their current marketing and think about how we could improve upon it. Collectively we've worked in marketing, PR and advertising for 26 years and we are educated to degree level.

For the first time we feel alive and have learned more about putting all our skills in to practice over the last three months than ever before. So far we have gained 4 new clients with 2 pitches coming up in August. Our web site and blog is nearly ready to start shouting about. Biography films pending test shots live and looking a bit pale at the moment!

We have a plan and we plan to succeed. http://bit.ly/13LaVk

Thanks for the post and for the inspiration.

Nicola

Re: How To Change The World In 15 Minutes A Week

Hi I joined It Starts With Us a few weeks ago and enjoyed the challenges Nate and the #ATeam provided. This Big Idea will help anyone who joins to reach out and connect with others in ways that they didn't think were possible. For me to join it was important that I trusted the people I was about to connect with. I didn't want to be bombarded with spam. I can confirm that this has not happened in the slightest and have talked about it here http://bit.ly/1938f5 Get involved make a change!

Nicola x

Re: How To Change The World In 15 Minutes A Week

I'm a sceptic, but I like the idea of doing great things for others and being part of something interesting. I trust that you will not pass on my details to third parties or attempt to sell to me unless invited to do so. I don't usually sign up to things at all. So on this occasion I will offer my trust, time and comment honestly about the results.
