But this app was supplied by Apple in the first place, annoyingly it was forced onto your phone. Therefore its a feature of the operating system, they are removing a feature, this feature happened to be an app.

Re: First Person WW2

Did any one feel at 1:36 when he killed the three guys at the tank he killed them in the wrong order. The 5D puts out nearly cinema quality video for a very small fraction of the price than we were used for getting cinema like quality.

Re: See what an NBN fibre installation really looks like

The NBN box is not a router, it just supplies 4 ethernet ports where you can have 4 different connections but you need to either put a router or connect one computer directly.

Re: Engadget Distro's first special edition traces the origins of the iPhone 4S

I'd like to note, the people that are reading this magazine at the moment are the same people that read Engadget few times or more a week. We don't need 9 pages on a review of a product that has been around longer enough that we have watched all the videos, read all the comments and probably event personally tried it. I read the pages leading up to the 4s review (which I liked) but I didn't bother reading the rest. This is the first issue of distro I have read but if they are all just rewriting top stories from around the web, it's not even going to get off the ground, having the same problem that magazines of today have, the stories are old but the time it gets to the readers hands. The whole point of sites like engadget is that you are able to quickly send out news before any other type of medium. Like I said, I haven't read any of the other issues of distro but the only way the magazine is going to be interesting is maybe rounding up gadgets from the week or month, (i don't know how often you create issues) and talking about why they are interesting and what they mean for future other editorials, if you want to include information about devices you either should put a link or it needs to be a section of the magazine not in the spotlight.

Re: Top 5 reasons to jailbreak your iPad or iPad 2

I have been jailbreaking my iphone and ipad since my 3g, I wouldn't even know what you would have to do to brick it. Once your in they assume (and assume correctly) that you will buy other things by looking around. This is why Woolworth's sell 30 pack coke at a loss because they factor in the other things you will buy while you are in the store.

Re: Will iOS4.3’s Wi-Fi hotspot kill the 3G iPad ?

Not for me. Reason being is because my iphone is jsilbroken and I can already create a wi-fi hotspot. Both my iPad and phone are with telstra. On my phone I get 500mb and on my iPad I get 3gig for 30 dollars and because it's prepaid I don't have to pay it every month. (though I do because usually I'll have a gig left and it will expire otherwise)

I guess it all comes down to the data. How much you have of it on your phone. I guess another issue I think of is that I use my iPad on the train ride to Sydney which is about an hour twenty. I assume that would really hurt my iPhone battery and a full day in Sydney normally hurts my iPhone's battery to begin with.

Like with everything it's depended on the users situation and how they use their product.

Re: Motorola ATRIX promo video. Only kinda tho, mainly because of that 7fps 14mp still mode. Besides that, this camera looks really nice. I would like to see what kind of IO it has. I don't think audio in is a problem now a days but video out in the form of those little round screw connectors would be a plus. RGB connectors I think they are.

EDIT: no the plugs are called BNC connectors.

Re: VidCon 2010 is YouTube-only

The event was run by the vlog brothers well at least thought of by them and apparent it was all organized from idea to the actual day in 6 months. I assume the vlog brothers knew other youtubers and just asked them if they wanted to be apart of it. From what I saw in videos, it didn't seem like much. It was just youtubers going up on stage and doing a bit and the rest was just a fan fest. Personally I only heard of it few weeks ago because shaycarl and Charles from ctfxc mentioned it but I think even at the time they didn't know much about it. Even the on stage projection and things didn't seem very professional. I think next year will be very different and yes there will be a next year because I assume they cashed in from this.

Re: Epic Hero is Epic

Combination is epic but I think it's more amazing that the train actually stopped.

Re: Leaving the toilet seat cover down

I never put the cover down unless a guest is over or something but it's very rare ill ever drop my iphone.

But my question to you is, has the toilet cover being down ever saved anything? But for the same reason no time soon are we going to stop using windows or os x. It's going to be google chrome running by it's self with some kind of widget desktop and I don't think it's success is going to be wether google can pull it off, it's wether 1. if we are ready for this 2. Is the internet ready for this and 3. Are web Apps ready for this. My answer to these 3 points are no, but if you asked me if we were ready for the iphone before it was shown off I would of said no. Because I had never used a phone like that. I had never installed apps on a phone. Never had a phone that was powerful enough to do anything like that. Now this could be the same case for google's OS, most people have never used the internet in the way google is suggesting and I think because of this web apps will become more rich and I think a platform like adobe air may come into play on this OS and as for the internet well in australia I don't think we are going anywhere any time soon. I know I know about ruddys plan and the new cable but.... I dunno that could be the deciding factor about how well it will do in aus.

OK im going to stop writing now. I think ill write my own blog post about this. Maybe the first post for my blog.
