To be truly on par with uBlock, the content blocker needs improvements (e.g., it should support the blocklist format for both cosmetic and network filters the same format that blockers that typically use WebRequest based blocking use). The fact of the matter is that WebRequests in blocking mode are both extremely powerful from a good and bad perspective, and it's impossible to implement the best blocking functionality under the current ruleset.

Apple could create a system that makes WebRequest-based filtering obsolete, but right now, it's simply ineffective except for surface level ads and trackers that haven't adapted around it.

Chrome already supports this type of filtering with the Manifest v3 changes, but once again, Manifest v3's structure isn't capable of actually blocking any better than the Content Blocker APIs are.

Sure, Safari Content Blockers can't spy on you, but they also can't do an effective job of stopping the most insidious/clever ads either. That isn't because the ads adapt in some kind of cat-and-mouse game, it's because the underlying blocking engine is limited by arbitrary things (50k max rules per ruleset) and lacks a complete picture of how these ads/trackers come into the browser.

Re: Unbound Babes disguises vibrating sex toy as ring

It's so that when the moment is right, you can be ready.

Re: 0x00a329c0648769a73afac7f9381e08fb43dbea72

If you're curious, the private key for this account is the result of calling Parity's "create account from phrase" on the empty string.

Re: Have I Been Pwned is Now Partnering With 1Password

I second this. It's very trivial for app developers on iOS to check for the presence of jailbreak tools. Similarly, it's trivial for Apple to perform the same checks (it's their OS for god's sake). Many app developers do check, and Apple doesn't -- they could, but they don't.

Re: Link Bubble's New Owner Has Made All Premium Features Free

I've stopped using Chris Lacy apps for this reason. The problem is that the problems that G+ had weren't resolved, and nothing much was done for getting users to care enough about it to join. It's still used -- I won't discredit the fact that a lot of people are active and participate on it (especially in the Android community), but it's definitely far from the "Facebook killer" that it was allegedly trying to be.

Re: Spotify 3.1 Beta Brings New Now Start Page, Spotify Running, And Audio/Video Shows [APK Download]

It plays on any device you sync the playlist to. It allows sellers to also provide "compelling evidence" that a buyer accessed an intangible good or service and decline chargebacks.
