Between you and me - ahem - there do seem to be activists here who are somewhat skewered in their activism or fight for marriage equality and there have been concerns by me and others that we've become so desperate for marriage equality to become, at long last, a reality, we're willing to throw the baby out with the bath water to make it happen.

Some of the people involved in this are the same ones who capitulate to Diaz

I respectfully disagree. All this video proves is that Cuomo can make a good video and will become a favorite internet personality on YouTube. There's no evidence that he's actually being that fierce advocate for equality. Ironically, while some are asking for that proof, many other activists have been using Kirsten Giilibrand as a red herring; they're asking where's her promised support on civil rights for gays.

The more I am looking for a valid reason to switch to Wordpress, the more
reason I have to stay with Blogger. Seriously, I think it's time that my
money goes toward me and my own personal needs rather than someone elses.
And paying for things that I already do for free, only to wind up with the

With all due respect, how much of an education one needs? We gays are not monolithic or infallible. We're human and we make mistakes. Some people learn from their mistakes and try very hard not to repeat them while others just keep on repeating theirs and seemingly get away with it all.

I can talk and write about Diaz, NOM, Peter LaBarbera, ex-gays, ex ex-gays, anti-gay all day and night, but the reality is people don't wan't to know. They just want to live their lives drinking their kool aid and smoking their cigarettes outsourcing their lives to these people.

~~If people want song and dance, I suggest they go watch American Idol and Dancing With The Stars and stop making believe they give a damn, because I know for a fact no one does~~

With all due respect to your grandmother, of course not everyone is a homophobe. But the fact is that homophobes are working very hard to deny us our rights and if your Grandma , Daniel can't see how many of these people are blurring the line between church and state to get their anti-gay laws passed, then she is just making excuses for them and you are doing yourself a disservice for giving her a pass.

Seriously, what more proof does one need?

On the latter, I know that perhaps more than anyone else. I've been trying to get the SPLC to classify Truth Wins Out, Mike Rogers, and several people classified as hate groups or listed under their hate watch.

The point I was making, I think, is how ironic is that one doesn't think something could be considered gay bullying until either it either comes knocking on their door.

Truth be told, I'm not getting the outrage over Bret Easton Ellis; Are
people mad because he compared GLEE to "stepping in a puddle of HIV" or is
it about the It Gets Better comment?

Because I kind of agree that IGBP has gone off message and I believe Dan
Savage just wants to make it better for himself.

The puddle comment is beyond the pale, however. He reminds me of David
Benkof.

Obviously, it goes without saying, that Bilerico, Pam Spaulding, GoodAsYou, and JoeMyGod, to name a few, have been trying to keep their job as arbiters of the cause – they’ve become zealots -they forgot what their job is. Instead, they sold out for the GayINC dollar, they threw a few people under the bus, and now they find the ends don't justify the means. As I wrote elsewhere, whatever. If they close, they won't be missed by me.

As for my blog thingy, I've been doing this since 2004 and I've been thru more than fair share of highs and lows. Blog and or Bloggers have come and gone, allies have become enemies, enemies into allies, I've been betrayed more times than possibly imaginable by friends, but I'm still here doing my thing.

Because it's never been about profit and finances.

Unfortunately, I believe that since this speech, Larry Kramer has proven to be a hindrance to the equality movement than he is an asset. The Queer Justice League was a New York based LGBT group that started because of Larry Kramer but it never got off the ground because Larry didn't like the people in the Queer Justice League; so he went elsewhere to complain.

And that's all he ever does... complain.

1. My struggle to be an openly proud gay man,taking responsibility for myself, and trying to be a better person and encouraging others to do likewise and stop defining themselves thru sex and porn has cost me my life, having to live in constant second guessing from family, friends, and people like you..

2. My criticism stems from a question I posed to you in the comments section of your blog in 2010. They are by no means, unfounded.

3.I live in New York City. Unlike you, I don't have a money making publicity machine making it better for me.

4. As for the action itself, given that Obama did sign the DADT Repeal Act Of 2010 into law, and kept his promise to us that he would, it begs to question whether this action was even merited to begin with.

5. If one wants to volunteer themselves into the prison industrial complex, one can't bitch about the consequences that come from volunteering.

6. I don't talk on the phone and my e-mail is available thru my blogger profile.
