Personally, I like to use http://www.HDSplash.com for my video work.
New items always appear on my Netvibes (and even my MyYahoo!) before they ever show up in my Google Reader scroll. Google must be processing the feed in some way that takes a little bit longer than the other services. It's not a HUGE deal, obviously, but for news junkies every minute and second counts.

Very few computer literate people, if any, could go one year without at least using, if not relying on, Google search or Wikipedia. In addition, Google maps' large database of points of interests, innovative technology, and integration across multiple platforms (such as PC/Mac, iPhone, random software) would also be enough to put it on the list even if you have a stand alone GPS unit such as a Garmin.

That was a long list for 2009 you have, how much more for 2010 list surely be needing a long space for your list. Every year their are changes with our stuffs and with the things that we need to complete or perform our daily tasks and works. It is as simple as you love Madonna during 80's and Mariah Carey during 90's and Katy Perry during 2010... you surely love them all, but you just added new one on your list.

So we are now waiting for 2010 list. Any candidates?
I liked the delicious.com choice.
I do something similar with my web tools of the previous year.
Oh yes! the social bookmarking sites are excellent they have improved.
I make use of most of the social bookmarking sites as they have improved and more user friendly
I agree Michael, we can not live without iphone right now.
cheers
if you decide to update this list, you should consider duckheap.com especially now with everyone being poor, being able to borrow stuff from friends is pretty useful. i use it to find textbooks my friends have.
I replaced http://www.animoto.com with http://www.clipgenerator.com
It also integrates with some of the most popular social neworking sites like MySpace of Facebook
what about the portal to all the audio tours on the web www.audioguide2go.com
It has easy search functions and users can leave a review.
There are loads of audio walks out there from city tours, wildlife trails to the weird and wacky.

Arrington writes: "I have moved most of my music consumption to MySpace Music, and download DRM-free MP3s from iTunes when I want to buy."
Huh? Do you really? You buy DRM-free MP3s from iTunes? Could you do a post showing me how to do this, because as far as I can tell, iTunes only offers DRM-free AAC files. Not MP3 files.
So please, could you demonstrate how you are able to do this? Because I really would prefer MP3 to AAC, and I am amazed that you have been able to do this.
Although I'm sure it'll never reach "can't live without" status, on Jan 1 I launched Today's Free Game (http://todaysfreegame.com/) as a little side project intended to provide people with a little (or sometimes not-so-little) daily diversion.
It's updated at 7AM so everyone should have a new time-killer to check out over their lunch break :)
There are hundreds of free-to-play games out there, but the majority of them are terrible. Hopefully people will see the value in having one good one spotlighted every day.
1-800-free-411? are you kidding me? 1-800-goog-411 for the win!!! no ads!
Somewhat baffled that Evernote didn't make the list...
Only 4 of these are worth keeping. All the other ones suck and are boring and worthless sites.
Top 4
1. Gmail
2. Youtube
3. Facebook
4. Yammer
Twitter is retarded. I just don't get why people feel the need to provide info to others about every move they make. Just seems shallow that people wanna know this info. Here is some advice, get out more and enjoy yourself away from your computer and phone.
The New & Cool Web Is Lauch www.funbolo.com
I can live without any of that shit.
why NO flickr??
I dislike MySpace and Facebook.
what?? no 4chan?
looks like your list add on % has decreased...2006 to 2007 then 2007-2008 saw steady growth...2008-2009 only 2. means 2008 was a terrible year for the net.

Haven't seen flickr around. But anyway there's gmail and wordpress!
Outstanding. Excellent choices for sure!
I would add Spotify.
You mention Technorati in your post... I've used it a lot less since they took out the ability to sort blogs by rank in their advanced search feature about a year ago.
I noticed you are debating between Firefox and Chrome and you use Skype but there is no Skype plugin for Chrome, is that not a deal breaker?
I can't live with all of those... maybe I am not the only one though :)
I'm a little late on the comments wagon here, but hopefully you're still reading these...
Related to your dropping Netvibes from the list: have you noticed how there's a slight delay in feed content appearing on Google Reader? New items always appear on my Netvibes (and even my MyYahoo!) before they ever show up in my Google Reader scroll. Google must be processing the feed in some way that takes a little bit longer than the other services. It's not a HUGE deal, obviously, but for news junkies every minute and second counts.
Insightful list as usual!
With excellent suggestions given by the crowd ;)
So I've decided to go with my list too: http://domderrien.blogspot....
A+, Dom
Losts of them are also poplular in China.
Animoto is great. Used it recently for the first time for a client.
