Sorry to the family of the deceased, i think there is some kind of sense why she died, i guess it has nothing to do with the domestic workers after all they knew well that if they went ahead to kill her they would be the first ones to be arrested, there must be another person so "big" who plotted evrything. Drugs kill in diferent ways this we have witnessed in different ways, Akasha, and the rest.

nyangwati • 11 years ago

Can Mohammed Ali do some investigation on all the Embassies in Kenya if not some. May be they are the ones doing some human trafficking?? coz they are not in the line of suspicious guys. If they can traffic drugs they are capable of every kind...Jicho ipenye....

Felix Amolo • 11 years ago

If this is what had been happening, then why didnt they brief the amb.on their business? Or maybe she was briefed and decided to defy for the common good and she eventually lost her life.Quite sad.

kenyancities • 11 years ago

drugs in our world is a lost case..they are all doing it, so who will monitor who?

jibril m m jibril • 11 years ago

Nyameyio Omweno • 11 years ago

David Goliath • 11 years ago

They say kenya is the link to east and central africa now you know why

Mwai Wa Nyaguthii • 11 years ago

this embassy should be shout down

Felix Amolo • 11 years ago

Sure it should,i didnt even know it existed until that saga.

Dlareg Rey • 11 years ago

i think we should do alot of research on this matter before anything

Eric Kinyanjui • 11 years ago

DKjones you just restored my faith in kenyans. People comment on these stories as with no insight or factuall references whatsoever. And trust you me people.

DKjones • 11 years ago

Eric, unfortunately our fellow Kenyans comment after only reading the title and the first sentence. Need we ask why we used to fail the English exams? Haha.

David Goliath • 11 years ago

I did not fail.

Victor Kenyanmann • 11 years ago

DKjones Dawg what an onslaught you have led against blokes here, and I must say, its quite justified and objective, 'we' are always the ones who point fingers to Police and when caught by them violating traffic laws we try and talk our way our verbally or financially :d

DKjones • 11 years ago

@Victor Kenyanmann, I could not agree with you more. We must stop this culture of police bashing. And I am not even a cop. Lakini when we start having a positive attitude towards policemen, our lives might brighten. Furthermore, they are our kinsmen.

David Goliath • 11 years ago

Can you reply on jones quote. Not way down here there is no time to search what jones wrote.

pkania • 11 years ago

Can you have the beat police force at the same time statistics indicate that kenya police is rated as one of the most corrupt police force in the universe? Best in what? Do enough research before commenting.

suluhisho • 11 years ago

So we not only have pedophiles and rapists as diplomats in this country we even have drug barons, what a shame but from the line-up of leadership in this country it doesn't come as surprise that all manner of thugs love hiding in Kenya, birds of the impunity flock fly together, but I have hope in one man called CJ Mutunga and his group, he will save this country.God protect him.

Kipngenoh Japheth Langat • 11 years ago

Sad that the struggle to illicit eliminate drug trafficking and abuse seems to be on the rise. It's even worse when it involves people who are expected to be on the forefront in the fight against drugs. May God help us.

Kushuku si kujua. Its just a wandering of imagination that is not backed by facts. Hence your caveat is problematic

DKjones • 11 years ago

dovempole, @suluhisho promptly (upon my comment) changed his/her comment. Previously it said: 'I knew it'! Hence my harsh comment. Perhaps he/she saw the light? Indeed, he/she should thank me for correcting him/her for spewing nonsense. I do understand the difference between 'kushuku' and 'kujua'. Suluhisho had said that he/she 'knows'. Thanks for the information though.

dovempole • 11 years ago

Dj.. its true. There is need for care about what we write. It could have multiple negative or positive effects. Thanks for assisting suluhisho

Harold Kinyanjui • 11 years ago

If diplomatic bags are not supposed to be opened, why not use sniffer dogs?

EVA. ALFRED OKUMU. • 11 years ago

Good question Harold

DKjones • 11 years ago

Sir, did you read the article? Allow me to remind you what it says: the drugs are purportedly smuggled 'in the pouches that are immune to inspection, search and seizure under the laws of international diplomacy'. Using sniffer dogs amounts to 'inspection and search'.

Betty Njoroge • 11 years ago

DKJones - if only you could spare half a braincell you'd increase the intelligence of the average Kenyan by 50 points. Scary thought, this is how people read the newspapers (headlines+first line = opinion). keep it up!

Dunga • 11 years ago

I believe that they can use sniffer dogs and or scanners to detect the drugs or other anomalies ...... but to open and inspect the diplomatic pouch permission would be required from the country of concern.

Lome • 11 years ago

Sir, so what do you propose?

PeachyItaako • 11 years ago

Wait a minute-now its something related to drugs really? The investigation will definitely go cold somewhere along the line for unexplained reasons as usual!!
Pity Kenyans for despising honesty as so many theories will be foated to disguise the truth in this particular case

Akelloh Paul • 11 years ago

what an ugly coincidence

potsyula • 11 years ago

We need to review some of these laws governing diplomatic immunity.

DKjones • 11 years ago

And by 'we' you mean who? Parliament, 'Wanjiku', who? Sorry, the laws governing diplomatic immunity were not/are not set in Kenya. Ever heard of the 'Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations'? It's an international endeavour.

KenyaRenaissance • 11 years ago

You're wrong on certain aspects.. nothing stops us (Kenya - the country) from initiating the process at an international level (with support from countries who have fallen victim to abuse of diplomatic immunity)... Secondly, inspection is a must - it is just not done officially. How do you gain inteligence if you dont take a peek at their diplomatic packages? We must emulate the west on this one... they take international convections as "guideines" that "must" be followed OVERTLY and must be disregarded COVERTLY.

David Goliath • 11 years ago

You are also dead wrong. Revise your law on diplomats

Maji_Baridi • 11 years ago

Interesting! You could literally make a movie out of this saga. I'm sure there's more to come.

David Goliath • 11 years ago

When it comes to drugs that all you will hear. Money is now exchaning hands and i mean biiiiiiig money that can silence even you

Peter G Nderitu • 11 years ago

True. The whole sordid story gets messier and messier.

majestic ads • 11 years ago

Venezuela is a corrupt state. That is an under statement. How does the Kenyan police allow this happening right under our noses? I am sure they knew about it.

ngaii • 11 years ago

It is not right to condemn a whole state because of a few individuals. I believe like in Kenya, Venezuela has its own challenges.

DKjones • 11 years ago

Sir/Madam, I don't hold brief for the police. But did you read the article? Before you blame the Kenya Police Service, please read it again. Enough with police bashing! Allow me to remind you: the drugs are purportedly smuggled 'in the pouches that are immune to inspection, search and seizure under the laws of international diplomacy'. So, you tell me, how do the Kenya Police stop it from 'happening right under our noses' if they cannot 'inspect, 'search' and 'seize'? Most of the comments I have replied to here demonstrate why we fail comprehension questions in examinations. We respond before we have read, understood and digested the information. What a culture of reading. Furthermore, be careful what you claim viz: You are sure they knew about it? How sure are you, and what evidence do you have towards the same. A diplomat was murdered. You are sure the police knew about the drug cartel?

David Goliath • 11 years ago

Your coment is longer than what the editor has written. Be breif we don't have time for compositions

Mageria John • 11 years ago

Do not read long comments if you believe you don't have time for compositions. Let some of those like me, who appreciate detailed and comprehensive reply from more insightful and dedicated contributors, to continue receiving quality blogs. And when you say "we", am sure that does not include me.

peppa • 11 years ago

dkjones i am a bit disturbed by your statements made here. its not always about pple lacking English comprehension skills, reading culture blah blah...but about factual knowledge n understanding of subject matter. to begin with i am a diplomat n yes western countries do screen dip bags n use sniffer dogs. in fact ALL bags air bound are screened. if something fishy/illegal is contained in bag then it always returned to embassy. think about it DK, if there wasn't any kind of inspection/screening done. how many planes would be considered 'flying bombs'? n.korea, iran ???

DKjones • 11 years ago

Thank you. My concern is not with all you have mentioned, even though your point is well taken. I am worried with the parent comment viz: 'How does the Kenyan police allow this happening right under our noses? I am sure they knew about it'. How does @majestic bash the police and then claim that they [the police] knew about it? That is my worry. If I am wrong, just peruse the comments here. Readers jump to writing before they have even read the entire article!

nyangwati • 11 years ago

Which world do you belong??? inspection? and how drug is/are trafficked from Columbia to Eastland Nairobi or Mailindi at the coast?? or don't they use the same ports and airports?? inspection is done by Robots or human beings? who handles dogs? who controls the screening machines??? do we grow coca plant or opium? then how does it end up in the street of Nairobi or any other major cities??? Mr. Diplomat there umenoa....

ace2012 • 11 years ago

Because Kenya is MORE corrupt than Venezuela ... DUH!

David Goliath • 11 years ago

uve broken my ribs lol

Beyond Kirinyaga • 11 years ago

Yes. How. Don't you know we have the best police force in the world!!!!!!. Get real buddy.
Its like asking why Ugali doesnt exist when maize is still on the cob. Our security forces from Police to Navy all need to be turned up a few notches. Training, doctrines and everything else involved to make real servants of the republic and law.
