kenyan citizens deserve better leaders, i think hon kimunya should be suspend pending inquiry immediately. Where is RAO N KIBAKI......they should do something a bout ?
It is nothing but business and an aggressive businessman like Hon Kimunya does not do it alone. Why is he sober, not shaken, not ashamed? He is the kind of a person who will never dare regret or apologize to any wrongs, likewise to his fellow colleagues in cabinet and parliament and that is why they cannot distance themselves from him. From top downwards in that house is a solid partnership. Our cries and comments are just songs to them, where shall we go! Oooh God.
Is it that the man has an affinity to controversy or is too much focus put on him?
OOOH its Kimunya again.
All airlines are stakeholders, not just KAA. Kimunya will not get even get a slap on the wrist, whatever he decides goes. That is how powerful he seems to be.
Kimunya everytime! Nkt
'Only a govt lawyer' - This for me surmises Kimunya's arrogance and impunity.Hope he doesn't make it back!
i agree, after all he is "only a govt minister"
Hell he must go khalwale where are you? are you still compaigning for mudavadi and some hooligan is robbing kenya?
Yes ! Arrogance discribes him ..He is on record for calling Title deeds just a piece of paper
I don't know why Kibaki still holds Kimunya in the ministry docket. Its a shame!
Not a suprise to me as a kenyan, Kimunya is a very contraversial minister, political and economic interest. first of all the current JKIA is not that modern we are waiting to see what it will be after the current renovation. another terminal is needed but with this politics i doubt. somebody is not telling us the truth.
So sad how much money in this country too much corruption - this is a new Kenya, fire all this guys in 3 years I want to take off from a JKIA that looks like Schipol airport. All this officials are a disgrace and politicians are a shame. - all of them
What a shame! This is the sad reality of our politics. This man has been accused Grand regency scandal, Tribalism and nepotism in parastatal appointments, CBK money printing scandal, Airport construction scandal, Anglo Leasing scandal etc etc and he is still sitting pretty in office. Don't you people think there is something wrong with the leadership of this country? I'm certain if you dig deeper in Transport ministry specifically the multi billion Mombasa port dredging project, tendering for Lamu project etc etc there are huge question marks.
Could there be a strong 'international' hand .when it comes to chinese, does anything ring a bell?
What if Kimunya was right here? Does the Chinese company Anhui Construction Engineering Group exist in reality? Do not condemn Kimunya, he may be saving us from the Chinese scum.
I also reserve my comments for the time being. It is just the other day we were told FENXI group of Company from China does not exist yet it had been awarded coal mining project in Kitui.Lets wait for more details before we crucify this Son of Kenya.
From what I read.. there are many players involved in this one, including the Ethics and anti corrunption commisssion, all have given the deal a clean bill, why is it only Kimunya who is against it? Iko Kitu!
Oh my God, again the same man up to when now ?
why
There is a time for everything, a time to reep and a time to sow; a time to be a bully boss and a time to be bullied; a time to trash laws and a time the laws steams you in a furnace. Let Kimunya do his thing
Its called growing horns (kumea pembe). Can they please be cut pronto!
Kama Mbaya ni Mbaya, the guy has a nose for commission, the fact that all was well probably did not auger well with him and therefore, the need to have the project cancelled so he can get those who sing his tune to come to the fore. Dr. Khalwale, Kimunya needs your input in parliament.
Kimunya is the face of yesteryear reformers. That is why I am very wary of the current reformers shouting from the roof tops.
Kama ni mbaya ni mbaya. Prof Muigai is just a govt lawyer. Really such reckless wording should be avoided by public figures. It makes u feel that there is no room for consultation because you don't want to or have given up. I read so many negative stories about Kimunya. If indeed he is a stumbling block to the progress of the nation, he should be relieved of his duties.
Talk of Ministers who are not changing with time in Kenya! Kimunya would have excelled as a Minister in the Kenya of 1993 under mzee nyayo. He is struggling a lot and seem unable to cope with the changing political and constitutional landscape in Kenya. I feel sorry for the Accountant.
Kimunya! Kimunya! Is this man ok?
It is our time to eat , you never may be too sure who the next president may be but I pray not the one Kimunya is supporting , Kenya will surely go to dogs with these kind of leaders pray pray Kenyans, Ati Githu is just a lawyer so Kimunya is just what????
Poor Kenyans, the country robbed blind and there is nothing they can do about it, except maybe if foreign governments intervene. Where is Hilary Clinton?
I am not a fan of Kimunya but I agree with him on this one. The Chinese, from what we have seen of their airport construction in Kisumu should not get that tender. Visit Kisumu international airport and you will realise what I mean (shoddier than this does not exist). We need a JKI Airport having world standards of Amsterdam Schipol, Charles de Gaulle and not Pekin nor Shanghai. The Chinese showcase airport of Kisumu is an eyesore with a runway that will need lengthening in the future. The adage that "when we build let us build forever" is not Chinese.
Kisuma has always been a joke of an airport and the recent refurbishment was full of scandal. Eldoret Airport is next door, has functioning facilities and handles more traffic yet it was't a higher priority for development.
The adage that "when we build let us build forever" is not Chinese.
Presumably, the Great Wall was built by the Dutch and the French.
@danielwaweru, Building a wall does not require the same workmanships as that of building an airport. To make things worse, Chinese do not have their own original technology, everything is photocopied. When they buy planes, trains ..., they are exigent that the hardware be assembled in China after which they produce the same bad copies to sell to poor Africans. I understand that they are making the replica of the Eiffel Tower somewhere in China. What a waste of energy and resources. The day the Chinese will borrow a leaf from that adage and invent something new, they will become proud and respected.
On a lighter note..That's a 90's photo, where do the old planes go btw...are they resold to some other country?returned to the factory/just kept in the hangars...
Lets get moving - there is no time for politics now when Rwanda and Ethiopia are on our case. This is a big challenge, Kenya. Praying that this company is up to the challenge, can we start this project ASAP? Countries around us are trying to outdo us and its up to us to live up to the good name that Kenya has internationally, albeit that it briefly 'screwed up' after last elections but I believe we are back on track. We need to be a world leader in as much as we can and this project means jobs for our people. We just must ensure that the majority of the workers on the project are Kenyans not Chinese. Tuende Kazi! Siasa kando.
When somone says to his heart i have nothing to loose this is what happens. My brother, you can try to run away from your responsibilities but you cannot run away from the consequencies that derive from running away from your responsibilities.
Waswahili husema, kufanya kosa si kosa kurudia kosa ndio kosa.,Mr.Kimunya,This is not the first time you have found yourself in controversy,e.g The Grand regency saga,Safaricom shares saga, etc. Please this should not be one more from kimunya!
Kimunya is in the government to make money, anything else comes a distance second. Public service...what is that??
The question that comes to mind for me is: why is Amos Kimunya in the Cabinet to begin with? Fresh from evicting perhaps gullible but nonetheless innocent Kenyans from Syokimau and destroying their costly homes, he is now interfering in a tender that has all the indications of being above board. Why was he reinstated to the Cabinet, if this is the kind of behaviour he continues to show? And what does it say about other Ministers who have been reinstated after investigations, some as recently as last week?
I salute Messrs Stephen Gichuki and Githu Muigai for doing things right. When a Govt does not listen to its own Attorney-General, things are seriously wrong either with that AG or with that Govt. I think it is plain who is in the wrong here, especially if the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission has okayed the project.
op?
Are these the young turks that we want in leadership really?
We have had enough let kimunya come out clean 'not grand regency, not the money saga, not the safaricom shares saga.Does it mean there is no man who can replace kimunya??? we are fed up with him he has done us enough bring him down
Kimunya is a brilliant man who sacrificed his genius at the alter of impunity and power. He failed to see that he who invites you to his home does not mean he is hospitable. Shame on you Kimunya. There is nowhere you will go where your name will not be mentioned in a scandal. Good brains badly wasted. But that's what you get for being a smart person with no conscience.
Brilliant? He is a mere accountant. Sorry to all the accountants out there but I have not heard of a genious from that field.
60% of world CEOs are accountants. There must be something they are doing right that Boards prefer them to other professions in leading companies.
Managers but, geniouses? Name one.
JP Morgan, Walter Morgan, Arthur Blank, Josiah Wedgewood, Walter Deimer. Then there are accountants who did other things but were still considered exceptional in their accounting professions eg, John Grisham, Kenny G, Bob Newhart, Tim Dubois etc. You clearly are ignorant of what accounting is and so are many people who think its just about debit and credit. I am an accountant by profession but I never depict any other profession as lower than mine. Because of the experience I have had in more than 10 different industries and the world view I have been exposed to as a result of accounting I have learnt to respect other professions. Learn to respect other professions you never know what you may learn from them!
If you want to do things the right way or the 'right way',you will always invite controversy. Why is it that we cannot agree on anything:BVR kit,JKIA,Safaricom IPO,Grand Regency etc.etc.
This chap must be a magnet for corruption. How come all he touches has corruption written all over it?
