Beth referred to Freddie as "she" in the interview, which is why we went with that. I do think Freddie uses both male and female pronouns, from interviews I have read.

For the record, gay Americans have every right to be upset with Obama right now. He could have easily (and without the copious amount of opposition he is seeing from the GOP when it comes to EVERYTHING) done something about stopping DADT--at least a stop loss. He could have easily prevented that homophobic memo regarding DOMA--and also stopped DOMA all together. I'm sorry if wanting equal rights in a country that boasts "freedom for all" and "democracy" is being a "spoiled bitch."

The article--if you bothered to read it--is explaining how Obama does want to do these things (repeal DADT and DOMA) but needs "time" AND a swift kick in the butt from gay activists. It's basically encouraging us to unify and work toward our cause. I supported Obama and continue to shoot down the ridiculous and false things people say about him, I just hope he comes through for me.

No, I mean...I'm still there. Part-time. I *might* be going back to school though. The prospect of being a nights and weekends Sun-Times part-timer forever is daunting, and a promotion seems unlikely.

Haha. It is such a small world. I do go to the Starbucks in the Mart, but rarely have bylines online or my photo (most of the stuff I do is under STNG Wire or "staff reports") Now I'm curious about who it is as well...since I know several gay men at the ST but no gay ladies. :)

It's funny, because the first Boner Party post I saw made me LOL and I was like "Hey, I'll follow this blog, It's funny and features photos of hot girls." Not too long after that, when the site "took off" I found myself scrolling through my dashboard cringing. I don't know if things got a little more vile and exploitative to gain readers or because the writers got more ballsy, but I Unfollowed--possibly thinking I was being a little sensitive.

But you are right. It is sexist--and as a feminist with some "cool ladies" for friends, I can absolutely say that some of them ARE friends with sexist dicks. I think it's funny that guys are rushing to the defense of BP claiming those offended by it don’t have a sense of humor. Isn’t that always the case? The person who has no idea what it is like to be objectified because of your gender seems to know the most about objectification and what is/is not appropriate.

Ugh. Honestly though, more than BP itself or the majority of the comments here, what horrifies me is the "anti-feminist" thing. What does that mean? You don't believe women should have equal rights? Are you misinformed about the meaning of the word "feminism" or just misinformed in life? I hear that from women sometimes and it never fails to make me cringe.

Yep! There are actually two Devil in the White City tours. We went on the one with the Chicago Architecture Foundation (http://www.architecture.org... and I heard about another, less-formal one with Weird Chicago (http://www.weirdchicago.com/), which I believe focuses more on H.H. Holmes and the murderin' .
