We used to stay at AirBnBs all the time because it was cheap/easy.. Then we moved and experienced what it was like to have an AirBnB host as a next door neighbor. It was horrible, having a never ending stream of strangers staying next door, some who were very disrespectful (loud parties, sex outside) and many times wrongfully tried to get into our home since the units are identical. We live in Silverlake and her unit was rented out probably 4-5 nights a week. Our landlord had no idea the tenant was renting out the apartment and was upset because of the liability and asked the host to stop. We welcome more family housing in our neighborhood and neighbors! But I wouldn't use AirBnB again after what happened next door. The tenant renting out her place had to move out because she had rented out an apartment she couldn't afford with the plan to rent it out every week for several nights to pay the rent.
