I have not been a big fan of poetry - I have developed a passion for flash fiction, which to me, is very similar to poetry. Word placement on the page is important, and I think a lot of flash authors forget this.

My favorite poet is Frost. And you hit it right on the head with the reference to King's Gunslinger. It's the rhythm of the words coupled with story and vision - that's what makes any piece of writing memorable.

Re: Looks Like Someone Needs "The Talk"

This is disturbing on so many levels. That woman would get pregnant if her husband threw his pants on the bed. Someone needs to tell her -- that is a PENIS. It is a weapon of mass destruction. STEP AWAY FROM THE GONADS.

I'm gobsmacked. (No, that doesn't mean I'm pregnant. Heh.)

Re: Random Fiction with Drew #3 | Drew Beatty

Well, that is quite interesting. The questions that occur to me are:

Does Archie ever get an answer?

Is Mary upset about being trapped? Does she wish some kind of revenge, or is she happy with this kind of immortality?

What happens when Archie dies? Who gets the film then?

Is it a different scenario every time he threads the film?

If he's only done it once in seven years, what's keeping him from doing it more often?

Very interesting premise. I'd like to see what you do with this. :)
