As we all know it's not Yashica that we all used to know. It's just cheap Chinese trash now but I commend them for atleast trying. Could you imagine if they managed to make a DSLR with an APS-C sensor from Sony and use the C/Y mount? They probably wouldn't sell many though to be honest but dang it would've been atleast mildly interesting to us haha.

The funny thing I find about phones now is nobody uses them as actual phones anymore. They're just pocket computers and cameras. The phone is a secondary function or third function lol.

While I don't shoot Fujifilm anymore, I was surprised to see a new addition to the X-M line. Good on Fujifilm. Hopefully it's a success.

The best lenses are whatever you enjoy using the most. I have to agree with the 50 1.8 S, I am not a big 50mm fan but that lens is spectacular.

I hated how cheap the lens felt for the cost of $800+ and I had number focus issues with that lens. Perhaps it was my copy. But it would always back focus. Never had that issue with other Z lenses, even the 40 f/2.

I'm not wrong to think it could change the used market because people who want a 35mm prime for the Z mount only had the 1.8 S and they go for around $650-700 on ebay currently. With this new addition of the 1.4 manty will opt for the new lens instead even though its not as optically good as the 1.8 S. It could drive the cost down as it may be more difficult to sell. BUT the 1.4 could sell less around $450 which would be a good buy. I guess we will see.

I think it's two different things. Using AI tools to make fixing dust spots or removing certain blemishes from the image easier is not what I consider to be AI. But adding a barn to a otherwise empty field using AI is what I'd call a composite image which people been doing way before AI but now it's only easier. Even the folks that did composite Imagery still had go and take photographs physically and combine them in posts....which I respect. But now they don't even need to go outside and just typing in prompts and out comes a scary realistic image that doesn't exist.

l'Il be curious to see how this compares to the 1.8S. I had the 1.8S, but it was a love and hate relationship but couldn't complain about the image quality, it was stellar even wide open from center to edge to corner and I believe it's even lighter than this new non S 1.4? And the 1.8S is fully weather sealed with the better coatings? Hmmm. If the 1.4 is more compact I may be interested but I'll wait for comparison. If anything - could it lower the price of the 1.8S? Especially on the used market?

The ones that get flagged are probably what the AI was trained on 😂

Joking aside, I'd be upset if my photos got flagged being AI for using AI to remove dust spots or something insignificant. I don't know what to think about all this. I appreciate what Meta is trying to do but no matter what there will always be deception.

Even on Flickr people are post AI generated images and passing them as genuine photos and now real photos are being flagged for being a generated photo. I'm so over this AI crap.

Doesnt matter to me, I rarely use it lol. The most I do is remove dust spots and other minor things like we have been for many years. I hope that doesn't count toward your "generative credits". - Imagine seeing your credits go down for each dust spot removed 😂 that would be a sad state of affairs but that's where we are heading. Hey there film 😏

They are actually pretty fun to buy untested cheaply, get them working or sometimes the seller just doesn't know how to use it, either way it sometimes doesn't take a lot. Clean up the camera and lens, replace the light seals (super easy) and what you'll have is a nice functional camera that you put effort into saving and that feels good.

It's like restoring a classic car that was left to rot, you're giving a film camera that was forgotten about a second life.

I been finding cameras that are lesser known or not as popular. There are always gems out there that are incredible cameras that nobody wants because they don't look like a fashion statement.

I'd say to get a cheap film camera and some Fuji 200. Film can be affordable if you do it. You don't have to go out and buy a Nikon F3 and a fast 1.4 prime and Porta 400. That's the YouTubers influence 😂

My current kit is ultra cheap. Less than $100. Nikon N2000 + 28mm f/3.5. It has all the bells and whistles you need but retains that manual charm and it auto loads the film so if you're new, you can't screw it up. Plus the meter is good!

It doesn't matter what you use. It's fun seeing your pictures weeks after. It's a different experience, sometimes I get tired of shooting digital and pull out the film camera for a while. Film is still really incredible medium and there is a look you cannot get on digital, especially if shooting medium format!

There's no need to buy a super duper expensive tripods....there are really well made lesser known affordable brands tripods out there if you look hard enough. This article is all over the place....like most petapixels articles lol.
