It was so effective, I was fine for two weeks even without taking a single slice. Nowadays, I try to take at least half to a whole fruit daily. :) I slice one fruit into four then eat each slice raw, with water, or sometimes, if I feel rebellious, synthetic fruit juice or even soda. xD Most of the time though, I eat it with water or Turmeric/Ginger/Lemon (Caribbean Lemon) juice. :)

Yes I felt better from switching to bitter melon. Less kidney pains, too! :D

But, because I'm such a careless, abusive diabetic, I don't mind my diet and I eat a lot of carbs and pizza, my kidneys still ache. I've started this kidney health hack: http://www.iliveherbal.com/... And I felt better in just my second day. :) Hopefully that fixes my kidney issues. :)

This is the recipe I follow, taken off one of the links in that post:

Properly administering for those in danger of developing kidney disease involves initially includes taking 1/2 teaspoon of SB sublingual (dissolve it under your tongue) on the first day. Next, take 1/2 teaspoon of SB and 1/2 tsp of sodium chloride (cooking salt) in 1.5 liters of drinking water daily for two to three days. Then, reduce your daily dosage to 1/4 tsp baking soda and 1/3 tsp salt. If this still makes you feel sick, then just take the listed amounts of sodium bicarbonate sublingually every day.

With bitter gourd and the baking soda hack, I expect to live to a ripe old 80+, and die a cantankerous old fart. xD

I'll probably work exercise and more fresh vegetables into my diet, later. xD

Super thanks again! :D I cannot thank you enough for this lifechanging post. :)

Re: Bitter Melon, Diabetes

Hey, thank you for this post. :) I've been getting kidney pains from dehydration+metformin use lately, and I've been considering switching to fresh bitter melon completely. xD Your blog confirmed the direction I was going to take with my self-management. xD Though now I'm just wishing I did this last year yet. xD

Thanks much! :D

Re: Bitter Melon, Diabetes

I took bitter melon capsules, metformin, and glibenclamide (a sulfonylurea) all together. I didn't really notice if I had sugar lows. Maybe it was because I was eating too much. xD Just monitor your blood sugar, then. :D

Re: Bitter Melon, Diabetes

Hmm. It's practically like a regular house of a lower-income family in these parts. :p So yeah, Php 200/Php 250 is believable, and I think I heard my friends say that that's the going rate for the backpackers' rooms in Boracay. :p But not as gory-sounding as in this account.

Re: Hotel Horror Stories: The Worst Places to Stay... — Yahoo Travel Inspirations

It's possible in the Philippines. xD Plus, check his description. But I discovered that Del Monte's Sweet Style nails it down as close as possible. :D

In other news, though, if I prefer the Italian taste, I would go for Clara Ole's sauces. :D Clara Ole is made by SySu, which is a sister company of House of Praise. :D (They're a Chinese fam.)

Re: Recipe: Pasta or Noodles

Yay! I guess I really just have to push myself in drinking water. Hopefully, if I make it a habit I’ll be able to enjoy it soon."

I actually LOVE drinking water; one of the reasons why I do is that I drink water SUPER COLD (sorry vocal chords).. Then I discovered that water is so much more fun (yes, fun!) to drink when you drink it from a straw. xD

I bought a double-walled tumbler from Handyman that reportedly keeps drinks cold. So far, the water does stay cooler for longer. :)

Hope this helps. :D

Re: 2013 Prayer and Fasting

Here it is: http://victoryfort.org/reso...

Re: 2013 Prayer and Fasting

Hi there, Steve, here is the link to the Podcast series for the Prayer and Fasting week.
