Just to clarify: we, the Bitcoin Embassy, are not involved with CryptoFund - we are simply hosting Cryptomen in the coworking space.

We are also not the "Canadian Bitcoin Embassy" but simply "the Bitcoin Embassy".

We made the information public about how we're going to distribute the free btc. In essence:

1) Paper wallet is sealed in an envelope - a copy of the public key is located on the outside of the envelope
2) Inside the envelope is, amongst other things, a tutorial on how to open a wallet and transfer the funds. There is also a guide on Bitcoin wallet security best practices. There are other informational documents such as the flyers we've produced and a detailed explanation of Bitcoin (2 pages)
3) We'll have a booth and any student can pick them up. We're taking the emails of the students to avoid double pick-up.
4) Inside the envelope will also be a list of places they can spend bitcoins locally
5) There is a CLEAR warning that the paper wallet provided is not safe for storage since the creator may have kept a copy of the private key (the 1st lesson on security).
6) The students are clearly instructed that they have 30 days to import the funds so that if they throw the envelope away or don't use them we get back the bitcoins by sweeping all the keys.

We've used this method since our inception in July 2013 many times and have handed out hundreds, if not thousands, of free bitcoins in varying amounts including at events such as the F1 Grand Prix.

We know how to do this kind of thing - we wouldn't ask for sponsorship and donations if we didn't.

2014 was the year where Bitcoin emerged in the mainstream as a payment system. 2015 is the year where we need to focus on the currency aspect of Bitcoin, as its fiat competitors collapse one after the other. Great read, thanks for taking the time !

Understanding and analysing how our monetary system works, criticizing it and proposing an alternative makes us "nut jobs"? Bitcoin was built specifically to serve as an alternative to our monetary system - a currency with a mathematically fixed supply.

Yeah, people will use Bitcoin because it is useful AND because they are limited in number, hence are a store of value (as opposed to fiat). Otherwise they can use Ripple if they only want a decentralized payment system.

To my knowledge the Foundation spent 8% of its resources on lobbying and did NOT come out in favor of BitLicenses.

great work guys, very interesting data. since sample size is a little bit small, it would be useful to have some more details on methodology. results may be biased depending on data collection methods and sources.
