I would say "no" to your
question. I should have written that Jesus rebuilds *us* when things fall
apart. I think he's in the business of human restoration but I don't think
he intends to rebuild some of the things we destroy. That is, he lets things
fall apart for a reason sometimes.

Good question

Re: Sunday's Coming [VIDEO]

Yeah that stuff is gross. I like your perspective on generational
differences. I'll have to take that into consideration when I think about
this stuff. However, I did follow
a little but of what you said so I'll respond to what I did understand.

When we create a hierarchy out of Scripture (John 14, Matt 24 and 25 are the
best, Paul is the worst) we run into a huge logical problem. More
importantly, a Bible that only has a couple of books that are worth living
by isn't much of a Bible at all. In my opinion, you either accept the whole
thing or throw the whole thing out. The process by which those books were
chosen for the canon of Scripture was a good process and I trust the Holy
Spirit's involvement in that process.

The Apostle Paul is championed as one of the great founders of our faith. He
falls terribly short of Jesus but he's pretty foundational nonetheless.
Without his books, we don't have a ton in the say of theology. The theology
of Jesus that is recorded in the Gospels is excellent but the authors
clearly didn't write everything He believed down. So, Paul's theology is
necessary to understanding Truth.

Feel free to continue this conversation but I think you need to spend some
time read the Bible as a whole. Are in involved in a local church body? Do
you have a mentor or someone you can kick this stuff around with?

Re: Tis The Season

OK. I have a few questions for you in that case,

1. Where does Paul say we do not have to follow the commandments?
2. Do you disregard half the NT because Paul, the alleged Antichrist, wrote
it?
3. Will you explain how John 14 is the center of the universe? I agree that
it is important but I'm not following the whole universe thing.
4. Where is this youtube video? I'd like to watch it

Re: Tis The Season

Of your 4 points I agree with the first three. More
importantly, that law and all the other laws that are weird to us are a
small part of a bigger picture that usually amounts to our love for God
because of His providence.
Not a very thorough or scholarly answer I know but it's a start

Re: Church Book Burning: Rick Warren, Mother Teresa, Billy Graham...

Yes. Same Rating System.

I think me concern is how we perceive the entertainment-esque things that
churches do. We have a tendency to judge the quality of the church or the
likelihood that we will return by the extent to which they have managed to
entertain us. I don't think communicators need to change so much as the
parishioners need to. We can't use the same rating system for churches as we
do movies.

Re: More on Church...

Also, the biblical Nathan is a far better role model than I :)

Re: More on Church...

We missed seeing you too!
