I use it daily. One thing that you might find a drawback is that it uses Google Reader to manage subscriptions.

Re: http://hurtling.tumblr.com/post/1374324241

That these rules confuse people still boggles my mind.

Re: Scripting News: OMG, Twitter is suggesting people to follow?!

When I looked yesterday, they said you're like@BiellaColeman and Mariva H. Twitter says I'm "like" podcaster Dan Benjamin, and you're "like" Gabriella Coleman (@BiellaColeman) and Mariva H. Aviram (@mariva) who both have fewer than 1,000 followers. That bit might actually be useful. Maybe.

Re: U of I administrators tread carefully on supporting 21 bar entry age

I read Sally Mason's statement as her being unwilling to take a real stand.

Re: http://deathofapig.tumblr.com/post/562327347

There, I fixed it, you pedantic jerk. ::smile::

Re: http://deathofapig.tumblr.com/post/560990988

I'm guilty of romanticizing pre-industrial food myself. There are obvious consequences to coat-the-world with pesticides tactics. But like most things, the best route is a thoughtful one; eschewing one-size-fits-all solutions and, instead, thinking case-by-case. More work but generally better results.

Re: Droid 2.1 Update Coming Today

A serious question that I haven't seen the answer to anywhere: What would prevent the addition of additional home screens to the stock Android OS build?

Re: Metaphors: Burger King and, sigh, the Titanic

Howard, we gotta keep this cheap, so we're a strict Ctrl-C, Ctrl-V operation here ;)

Your point is a good one: "good" journalism isn't always as expensive and hard-to-produce as the Titanic passengers would have us believe. Obviously, modified animals raises questions (perhaps there are ethical questions about crossbreeding animals, too, but we've been doing that for thousands of years that it's not really thought about). I haven't done the dev work you have, Dave, but suddenly I don't have access to a ton of links that I have shortened and shared. And there is, seemingly, no way to even get a list of them from tr.im.

This is the problem with closed systems. What if the same thing happens at another shortener? Or at Twitter itself?
