I was saying that Comcast shouldn't have a monopoly on those cables after they are laid.

Much of the time the cables are above ground and attached to the same poles that supply phone and electric service. Should whoever installed the poles originality be able to keep them only for there purposes? Said purpose would more than likely not to let others use them( or alternatively to have fee usage so high as to lock everybody else out, then get laws passed that make it impossible to erect poles unless approved by government.

The horse and buggy people did there best to outlaw the horseless carriage and we all know how well that worked(Not!)

Re: Are There Really Alternatives to Comcast High Speed Internet?

Comcast's monopoly is caused by there having to be granted the ability to lay cable and the difficulty any alternative services would have getting access to that cable. I agree that DSL and Clearwire are worse. Somehow the ability to compete in this area has to be created, as Comcast sucks, just not as much as DSL and Clearwire

Re: County Council holding meeting in Kent Wednesday on 2012 budget proposal - Renton Reporter

Let's hope that West Hill and the Skyway area don't get any snow this winter then.

Re: Build a Better Sub-$200 Linux PC

Not sure if I need to do this again. This may be because the URL has been blacklisted, our crawler is receiving a redirect, or we are unable to contact your site. This could be caused by our crawler timing-out when trying to retrieve the page (we have a very short time-out to ensure the button remains responsive). Ensure that your page loads successfully and quickly, and locate all the pages on your site where it works/doesn’t work before posting the details of your issue onto our forum.
White

button_holdingTo keep Tweetmeme fast and full of features we sometimes have to take the site down for maintenance. We show a colour-less button with a question-mark (?) when we do this. We always try to minimise downtime, and keep our users up to date on changes on TweetMeme on our blog.
