When I asked O2 why they felt it was ok to effectively change 22 million customers contracts without forwarning them, even politely telling them before the event, I was told "We dont have to"

When I asked why they felt they could charge £1 and then refund to phone credit (something I dont need!) I was told 'We dont do that'

When I tried to ask them why they felt it was ok to suddenly start actively monitor my mobile internet traffic and behaviour without asking me.. They didnt seem to have an answer

When I asked why their '18+ content' didnt actually work.. given that they have blocked a host of websites that range from Chilli Farming through to personal blogs, and also blocked a rather nice website and iPhone app on finding fresh fruit and produce (www.Lovefre.sh) they couldn't answer

this is in addition to being cut off, passed around, and told basically I was 'lying'

the bottom line is O2 screwed up today with this.. and executed a text book 'how to piss off your customer base'

these are the 'bicycle' 809 decks... so called 'mandolins' designed by Paul Harris and Garrett Thomas, deck finish and quality from Richard Turner.

designed to be like the bike backs.. but not quite.. and as they arent the bike backs.. they can create as many gimmicks, changes etc as they like (without harming the precious bike back trademarks)

personally.. I like bikes... and these aren't bikes...

bottom line is ANYONE can get USPCC company to create decks for them.. The Phoenix deck by card shark in germany was created to get round the issues with USPCC no created gaffs for 808's... now heres another deck from USPCC, abeit its a magicians deck, the same as the phoenix deck, so you're unlikely to see these on normal peoples tables.. although the 809's have murphys behind them, who have commited to convert all existing trick gaffs into 809's

I have a few hundred decks of bicycles here.. so once I've exhausted those.. I may look the at 809's or the Phoenix decks... but I'm not sure you're going to be seeing 809's down at Costco's for 79p a deck anytime soon...

the thing here is that its ONLY the backs in issue... so decks marked BY USPCC at factory will not be done.. misprinted BACKS etc.. anything that changes the brandmark of the riderback will not be produced.. what I want to know is USPCC's view on the various rumors doing round that 808's were being stopped.. something i totally dont believe... Pheonix are ok.. I've used them but i have alot of bricks here of blue bikes.. so no real reason to swap.. i use very few gaffed backs.. and any marked.. I make up myself.. ghosts/tigers/etc etc etc are custom printed.. DONT use the USPCC rider design and hence shouldn't be effected... if your really needing double facers/halves back and face/or other gaffs.. look at some of the info out there on card splitting... and make your own gaffs...

actually the word 'faggot' is a kind of meatball. Faggots are a traditional dish in the UK especially the Midlands of England. Made from meat off-cuts and offal, especially pork. A faggot is traditionally made from pig's heart, liver and fatty belly meat or bacon minced together, with herbs added for flavouring and sometimes breadcrumbs. The mixture is shaped in the hand into balls, wrapped round with fat and baked. A similar dish, almôndega, is traditional in Portugal...

Personally if someone had wanted to use a term to offend him.. I could think of many that would fit the bill..

so if you didn't email in your choice, or your choice didn't show up in the top 'x' of emails collected, then it doesn't appear above...

to assume its a bogus set of nominees a bit unfair!!

The situation is a very sad one.. one of magics greatest acts, ending in such a terrible way.

There arent many recent photos of Johnathan on his own, and it's not intended to be anything other than a recent photo of him, it would not, I think, be suitable to have one of the photos of Johnathan and Charlotte.

The new boxes are starting to filter out now, and the story although posted by murphys a while back is still relevant given the new boxes (and some have said a new joker design) for the 808's are different to existing (or classic) boxes. Few of the news sites picked up the box when murphy's originally posted the report, but a number of the UK magic shops have now noted on their sites that the new style boxes are coming/here.. hence i guess why it was posted now..

its more a case of ignore by not writing in and complaining as magicians... dont go through lawsuits and court action.. all that does is fuel the network to say 'we have something so hot people want to ban it'

the best 'magician' course of action is to do nothing... the best course of action for the public... dont watch it.. and if they feel like it.. tell the networks its not something they want to watch and will avoid the programming they provide..

there is a thin line between reporting it from the point of view of something thats happening, and reporting it to make it more visible..

i possibly should have worded the last line better then :) blame it on my swine flu ;)
