I mean, she sings fine enough, but ugh, I wanna kinda puke... the lyrics are killing me... 1st grader poetry rox.

Oh, but wait, you only got the instrumentals, not the gal singing these songs??
Seriously, the rhymes are ALL 1st grader... and I'm talking about the "slow" 1st grader, not the ones that got put in the county poetry books.

Re: Mind-Melting Demo Disasters - I don’t get it - is there really a vampire in his...

Thanks for posting this, anonymous demo poster... because I have since had the joy of seeing live performances of their new album, even old old performances of them doing a really GOOD Karma Police, Beck's Sexx Ways, and Bohemian Rhapsody... and hearing the album version of this song (and others), they really do have actual drum sets... I guess this was an acoustic-ish one... they also use a lot of piano. Great performers, actually, but probably like Avett Bros--better live than recorded by 100xs.

Re: Mind-Melting Demo Disasters - I don’t get it - is there really a vampire in his...

Well holy moses... they ARE the same people from the heartland... and they are still making albums. Hint... look up the TOWN they get back from in the every line rhyming intro...

Re: Mind-Melting Demo Disasters - I don’t get it - is there really a vampire in his...

I think I heard this IN college at this oddball thing in fall semester the "Harvest Ball" that included a lot of live music like this by students with minimal setups... catchy.

Re: Mind-Melting Demo Disasters - This guy: Single handedly ruining two really good...

Agh agh agh make my brain go backwards to before he opened his mouth omgomgomgomg.

I want to puke.

Thanks. Thanks a lot.

Agh agh agh agh agh. It's really... that bad... I felt a distinct risk of seizing violently when he sang. Don't do that again without warning. EXTREME warning.

Re: Mind-Melting Demo Disasters - Finally, a song about love, life, and meth labs.

I KNEW I'd heard something like this...

They're from Tacoma. I live in Seattle. They've played dive bars here pretty regularly. Oh my effing god. I HAVE seen them... but it's NOT the Tempers... they'll be happy for this exposure... This is by far the best song of theirs for energy points... they consider their music "Kitchen music that will blow the kitchen up."

Haha... meth lab. blow the kitchen up... kitschy.

So yeah, they've experimented, that guy's freaky voice... with violins... "down in my basement..." is where he's gonna KEEP YOU, NOW THAT HE'S FOUND YOU.

That's they're NEW stuff... the meth song is from 2007...

great sense of humor with these dark souls in seasonal affective disorder land!!

"Why can't people learn to love and give into their desire? Why they askin me for a look around.... down in my basement??.... down in my basement, I wish I had a girl like you in my baaaaaaasement..."

Please... post that if you have it. You should. Such calm sweet folksy music and ... "this time I'll know how to treat her... this time I won't forget to feed her... down in my basement..."

Yeah, they warrant attention! (cause "all the angels sing.... down in my basement, all the angeeellllls sing...") Creepy... I live near them... they're just funny.

Otherwise, at least give em credit--they have a song called "Certified Dumbfuck" that the pic for is GW Bush... they aren't SO bad, are they, if they know that... and the guy knows he's the certified dumbfuck...

But yeah, long story short? They're on KEXP, THE indie station of Seattle...

they aren't doing SO bad for that to be true... and hey, look for em at spots like Isadora's... that's the biggest hint I'll give to people who care to find them :)

One last note? Who wouldn't love a song about Thanksgiving that is frank enough to sing how "I take a large dead bird and put stuffing up its ass..." ?
Really!!

Cheers from their Seattle neighbor... for the Tacoma band of methlabesque, true finesse. (Incidentally, hundred dollar habit is liked enough by many people because it's good live but it is kind of lame recorded, though they sound very sharp).

Re: Mind-Melting Demo Disasters - “I want to live,” today’s track, is part rock...

Yep, this track is failing for me, too... and I really wanna hear the rock opera part... and ... something else too.

Re: Mind-Melting Demo Disasters - Ok, this song’s got a little Stephin Merritt thing...

but... she never burns his toast...

no wonder he's dumbstruck. They must be effective)... I hate country--Avett Brothers are as close as I get (bluegrass does not equal modern crapcountry)... but this is REALLY well played--they have fast and furious rhythm vocally AND on their strings... there's no point in putting down a lifestyle just because it isn't your own (or mine)... I've met plenty of people from the southeast to the northwest and everywhere between that would buy this...

Think about that HUGE boot scootin boogie song... and this is 10 times harder to nail, even on a recording.

Re: Mind-Melting Demo Disasters - Alright, this is so confusing it’s just…...

For some reason, I'm thinking the lyrics to "Singin in the Baaaathtuuuub" sung by Ernie on Sesame Street are the inspiration.... la la la la laaaaa laaaaa...

IS Rubber ducky his one?

Leaves an air of mystery... and nausea :P
