i read the book at the book store last year (its a pretty quick read) and i have to tell you, i couldn't stomach any dairy or meat products for 6 months. Its that intense. However, based on further research, i think they are taking the most extreme instances of animal cruelty and dietary suggestions in order to make their point. They offer good suggestions like eating fruit in the morning but as a women, you really do need the calcium intake that milk can provide since it comes naturally while for soy milk, its an additive. As with most self-help books, you need to take their information with a grain of salt and do our own research!!

GREAT PIC. unfortunately, this picture popped up on my dashboard while i was helping a patron at my library who coincidentally, was taking out another famous philosopher (Voltaire). His only concern was that he thought Marx would not approve of the nudity because he felt that it led to the culmination of the whole bourgeoisie oppression with alcohol used as a coping method. He suggested the use of John Stuart Mill. I'd like to thank you for that 20 minute period of my life i will never get back :)
p.s. i'd like to add that the bloom version of plato is strange and not translated well. do you find that?

i like the fact that you post mainstream pop music unabashedly, irregardless of fact it goes against what most people post, ie unheard of indie rock bands or Radiohead, lol. Good choice.

the huge crowds happen twice a year during Eid/Ramadan. but it's like this huge pilgrimage every year that each person of Muslim faith is supposed to experience. Wicked stuff. This just makes me want to put off graduate work and travel for a year to experience all these interesting cultures.

ya i've had a problem with gold fishes too. they've always died! but yes this was just some musing i've had about getting a pet since i was pretty deprived as a kid. I think i'll start with a plant and work from there. An aquarium is definitely not on the docket anytime soon though. too much work , lol!

Im not really disputing the concepts of good music seeing as you have a pretty deep knowledge of it but coming from a disinterested view of most music, i think its pretty difficult to develop this familiarity and knowledge of musical tastes. I personally find that most bands are going to let you down. You may like one of their albums but come the next musical experiment, you have a whole new genre of music with very little similarities to their past work. And every band goes through this musical evolution, even the Beatles. Maybe I haven't been actively seeking to broaden my horizons and comfort zone past the radio and this forum, but dammit it's actually disappointing to see artists that you really admire produce unrecognizable music. Its easier to step away from it all, listen to the song that gets stuck in your head for awhile, download it and move on.

in defense of all women here, let me reiterate this: no album is awesome all the way through. There will be one or six bad songs. Second, a time-out means a time from everyone. It's time to check what else is on. You can't watch football/basketball for more than 1 1/2 straight. You get too tense and so you have to walk it off mentally. Trust me, all dads deal with these peculiarities so you can too.

why would you download an album which is probably cluttered with mediocre songs, when you just want that one song you heard at the ending credits of entourage? Waste of time. Next you'll be asking for a women who doesn't channel surf during a (insert sport here) game. These things just don't happen.

I get this feeling more and more now. When I meet new people in social settings I automatically compare their post-secondary education to mine. I think it has more to do with the fact that when you're in university you're constantly have teachers banging on about great your university is, especially if its ranked very high. It eventually gets to you, unfortunately. But since I'm still in uni I thought this feeling would go away. I guess it doesn't, lol...

GChat is what you make it out to be. Generally, a person you've communicated often enough on Tumblr will add you because its pretty easy to do. Same goes with email sent to/from Gmail accounts. It's just convenience really. But sort of awkward at times.
