I was in the same boat early on. I did a job for someone who paid in in bitcoin in 2012. We agreed on USD but he sent me the coin and then refused to respond to emails. I had no clue what to do with it or how to use it so it sat until last year when I cashed it out for over $50k...not bad for 2 days work.

So many times though a cover song is forced upon the band by the label. A&R will get the album back and listen "You know what this needs, a cover song. Go back and record a cover of some tune by the Cars." The band might have no connection to that track whatsoever but now they are in the studio being forced to cover a song. If they can't understand the heart and soul of the song, how can they interpret?
