I can't actually think of anything else; I'm not really attached to anything I own. And the only pet I have is Chris, and I'm pretty sure he can get out of the house pretty quickly.

Re: Sci-Fi Hi-Fi: Weblog: Andy Hertzfeld’s Notes on a 1982 Alan Kay Talk

Good advice is transferrable.

Re: Why I will never purchase from Felicitea again

I just visited Felicitea.com, and found it interesting that she seems to have completely pulled all tea and teaware from her site.

Re: Welcome to the Crispy Tea Leaf weblog! Home of the TeaCast!

Hi Pat,

Just found your podcast (a la Twitter), and since I'm starting from the beginning, perhaps you've discovered differently that milk doesn't necessarily make all tea taste bad. Much of it is personal preference, of course, but often it depends on the type of milk (skim vs. whole, for example), as well as how much milk one adds - adding too little doesn't quite help. Some folks (like yours truly) grew up adding milk to her strongly brewed black teas - including Earl Grey, to which most don't add milk - and not to green or white teas. (And I suspect that many lifelong tea drinkers aren't necessarily drinking tea for its antioxidant qualities; they drink what they like because they like the flavor.) Anyway....!

It will be interesting to see what other teas you try, esp. once you get a distinct format down. I'm always interested in seeing what other tea drinkers are drinking, and what types of tea they generally like.

Watching with interest,
Michelle (who has happily originated from the eastern part of Pennsylvania)

Re: My Latest Kiva Donation

That's a really excellent idea; I love the idea of microcredit, and I really like the idea of helping out in small ways (sayeth the unemployed grad student). Thank you for the link!

Re: Show me yours, iPhone users!

Well, it's helpful when one takes the subway everywhere. And when one takes and teaches classes at the same time. :-)

Re: Show me yours, iPhone users!

Wow, someone who uses his iPhone less than I do. (Of course, I only added some apps about a week ago.)

Re: Show me yours, iPhone users!

I think I underutilize my iPhone. The apps are very pretty and shiny but I just don't use my iPhone for as much as other folks seem to. Nevertheless, here are two screenshots: <http: flickr.com="" photos="" fleurdesoleil="" sets="" 72157606928133803=""/>

Re: Recording: My @PodcampOhio Session

I had to make a recording of myself for a class assignment once (I recorded myself in a tutoring session) - the whole class had to do it, of course. I think most folks were a bit apprehensive about listening to themselves for a lot of reasons, but it turned out to be a really excellent experience, and when I analyzed everything about my session, I really learned a lot. It was definitely helpful to really consider what I was doing well, and what I could be doing better; and that awareness made me a better tutor.

I think if you haven't listened to yourself already, you should; everyone thinks they sound awful on tape, but if you're able to discern your strengths and weaknesses, future sessions will be better for it.
