After the game Sat. a South Bend station interviewed Nic and he said when he started to get discouraged he'd look over at Coach Crean sitting in the stands and it would lift him up. I think he would love to play at IU if an offer came. And I would like to have a kid at IU that wants to be there in the worst way. I don't worry about his size. Heck, Erekk Suhr did alright and Daniel Moore does alright and Nic has more talent. Let him come. Maybe if schollys are hard to come by, offer a preferred walk on status. I like the kid and think he's a winner and would bring a winning attitude and battle to the end.

This guy got a raw deal. He beat us twice this year and we need an assistant. Maybe he can help us out. Heck, he did pretty well at Butler.

We're up 2 with Rivers at the line shooting 2 and he misses both, then Harvey hits a 3, Rivers fouls him and bam; we have a six point swing. Instead of being up 4, we're down 2. That's the ball game. Great comeback, but we should never have been in that position. We still have a long way to go, but I won't give up on the players or the coach. Go Hoosiers! Enjoy the holiday and come back and knock off Bryant and Michigan at home!

Ok, so can we move on now? This issue seems to be settled. Thanks for everything coach and best to you in the future. Now it's time for IU fans to move on, accept what we have, embrace it and cheer on the Hoosiers! Crean is the coach and let's support him! The Knight saga should end here and now.

Count me in as one who hopes Dumes rides pine for most of the season once the freshmen get their feet wet. Dumes is a player I and I believe many other IU fans would boo if he was on the opposing team.

I hope Creek gets the nod over Dumes. I'm not a Dumes fan. He's a loose cannon. Yes he gave us some points last season, but I'd rather have Creek once he learns the ropes.

Greatest player to come from Indiana? Are you kidding me? Sure he won some in the NBA, but what did he do in High School where the Indiana greats are measured? He wasn't even a Mr. Basketball. He lost in the NCAA final and he is great? There are some other guys I would rate ahead of Bird, Oscar Robertson for one, not to mention all the IU guys that won Mr. Basketball and NCAA championships. Bird was good, but not nearly the greatest. As far as Knight not speaking, well that shouldn't surprise anyone. Great knowledge of the game, but a boorish personality with a huge ego. I'm not sorry Bird left. We won without him and if he couldn't handle such a big city as B'town, then forget him.

Personally, I didn't miss Dumes at all during the game. With him turning the ball over and jacking up ill advised 3's or getting into the lane with nowhere to go, we probably wouldn't have been in the game at the end. I vote for Dumes to lose his scholarship to make room for the incoming recruits. Yeah, Dumes can hit a wide open 3 once in awhile, but when we need something, he tries too hard and usually fails. These guys showed they can play without him and add the new guys next year, I wouldn't miss him one bit.

Overall a good game. PU answered every time we tried to cut into the lead and they answered when Dumes jacked up missed 3's and turned the ball over. Was pleased Dumes didn't start. Now if we would just not play him...........

I'd be pissed too after the way we played in the second half. Dumes jacking up 3's from halfcourt and 4 turnovers. Dumes can stay on the bench for all I care. We played pretty well without him. His attitude hasn't changed either as he was ready to go at a Badger in the first half when he traveled then collided with the Badger. His attitude is bad and I hope he's the open scholarship we free up to get all recruits in the fold. I know I'll take flak for this, but he does nothing for me and I just as well see the freshmen figure it out without his so called leadership.

Yank his scholarship after this season. We don't need anymore thugs playing for us. He will get no more love from me the rest of the way. Beginning with the NU game, he has established a pattern of behavior that is not what IU should not put up with nor is good for rebuilding our program. Yes he can score sometimes, but we'll have plenty of replacement power coming next year. Later Dumes.

Bob's 15 minutes are up and over. I'm not sure I would call going to the tournament 5 or 6 times and then walking out on his team a success. He knew he'd never do anything at TTU and he won't do anything now. Kids don't buy into the "you screwed up now I will beat you into submission" type of coaching anymore. (at least not the top tier athletes that he would need to win) Stay retired Bob and do the college basketball world a favor. Don't pull a Jordan and an Armstrong on us. Now can we please get back to Inside the Hall, which I assume is a blog for IU fans and IU basketball happenings, not some worn out, past his prime coach who just can't stand being out of the media spotlight? Go Coach Crean and go Hoosiers!!

I hope Cody isn't a wimp like Luke is. Luke can do 1 thing, shoot 3's and that's it. Having watched him for 4 years at ND, I'm not disappointed at all he didn't come to IU. Now the other Luke for ND, now that's a different story.

I know we are struggling, but I'm starting to wonder about our substitution patterns. Why did we pull Roth in the 1st half right after he nailed a 3? Why was Dumes held out so long before bringing him in at the end? Why did we feel it was necessary to go for 3 w/ 21.8 seconds left? Why not get a quick 2, foul, then if they make them, go for the 3. Moore needs to be the point w/ VJIII coming off the bench as a shooting guard. Lewis needs to be the first off the bench as a 3 or 4. Taber is a crowd favorite because he's been around, but forget starting him. He should come in after Lewis. Finkelmeier continues to contribute solid minutes each game and he's getting the right amount of time. Starting 5 should be Moore, Dumes, Story, Williams & Pritchard. I know I don't get paid $2 million a year like Crean, but some things just seem goofy to me. I suppose he's just trying to find something that works, but I still don't get it. Anyway, Go Hoosiers and I like the free t-shirt!

Have we really seen progression with this team? I'm not convinced they have progressed all that much, especially over the past 3 games.

Look on the bright side. Only 9 months and a few days till the new recruits and our current team start official practice for the 09-10 season. It will be here before you know it! Also, Weber actually shook hands with all coaches and players after the game. So there are some positives!

One thing that is missing from the post under bad and ugly is the Big 10 network's poor camera shots throughout the game. I don't know how many times someone shot the ball and the camera wasn't focused on the basket and the only way you knew it went in or missed was by the announcers. They have had this problem for 2 seasons now. Think they would have it fixed by now. Ok, rant over, Go Hoosiers!!

What a game! Much better than the last 2 at home. These guys hung in there on the road in the Big 10. I don't believe in moral victories, but if I did, this would qualify. If we can keep focused and not get down on ourselves we will steal a win here and there. Go Hoosiers!
