It's probably best to take a bus to this event since there isn't really any parking anywhere in this area.

Re: TLDR – Jjimjilbangs and Public Baths

I went to a jjimjilbang somewhere between Seoul and Pusan called "Spa World". There's a large locker room and shower area (separate for each sex, of course) for changing into and out of your swimsuit for the co-ed bath/spa areas. Well, my brother and I had adjacent lockers and we changed as surreptitiously as we could. We met up with our English-speaking Korean cousins in the spa area and spent an hour going about to the various spa stations, hot pools, and saunas. My brother wanted to go back to the hotel room and sleep a bit more, so I gave him my locker key to fetch the room key. He got the key and gave me back my locker key. After another hour, we all left the spa area and I went to my locker.

My key didn't work. I was nakers and had no hope of getting to my clothes. Somehow, my brother gave me HIS locker key and returned mine. I didn't speak enough Korean to let the spa employees know my horrible, horrible situation. Eventually, my uncle (who also spoke no English) came down to see what was holding me up. It didn't get better. I couldn't even say "my key doesn't work". All of English-speaking relatives were women and couldn't sort it out in person. After half-an-hour of intense discomfort in a sea of man nakedness, I was able to get my locker stuff out.

Re: One of Swords Podcast 006: Hey, Look, Blur!

I liked your rant. It's exactly how I felt after reading comments on G4 and Kotaku. In all fairness, though, most of those commenters don't have fully formed brains, yet (according to the latest popular scientific news).

People don't realize how risk-averse Activision is. And firing the heads of their most successful studio to keep from paying out a few million dollars in royalties is risky. A few million dollars is a small amount compared to the expected future earnings of the studio. It's easier and cheaper to keep good developers comfortable.

Re: A test post, but also a puzzle

[correct answer removed]

Re: Making the Switch From Buying to Renting Video Games

Hey! I always assumed that it was cheaper for Adult Swim to run their show than to just have dead air. Now I know it's your fault. Yours and that "Jackolope".

Shame. The prices of those services are around the cost of the software packages and they include the cost of e-filing. I'm not sure what the benefit of buying the packaged software is.

Re: Black Friday Recap

I noticed in the post-Black Friday Circuit City ad that they had the 4GB Microsoft Zune players for $214 and *free with purchase a $15 Circuit City gift card!*. Every other retailer had the 8GB model for $199. So not only do you get a lesser model for more money, but you pay $15 on top of that for the free $15 gift card.

That is why can I no longer love.
