Yes, there is still hope, but the bulls need a positive catalyst - soon. Will it be the Initial Jobless Claims? Or the Bernanke speech? The possibility of a rate cut always seems to rally the market. Andrew Burkly, a guest on Fast Money today, agreed that the S&P needs to break above the 1390 mark. Like you said, the pullback on light volume today was a good sign, but we need something to encourage the bulls to take action. Sentiment is under pressure from the dour earnings predictions.

I like your balanced analysis. It's refreshing to see another Apple fan who isn't blindly fanatical.

Re: At the End of the Day Market Said Buy

Apple will certainly go higher in the longer term. But in the short term, despite the inverse head and shoulders pattern, the stock is due for a pullback. This being the beginning of 2Q earnings with some bad news lurking and AAPL with a 2.9 beta and sitting on a good long run, it could see a sharp selloff soon. I appreciate your chart analysis and think the smart investors should be taking some profits here. If it pulls back to 145 or so, I would load up the truck as Apple is a great bargain with a forward P/E of only 25 with 35 percent rev growth. Analyst Doug Reid believes there is a lot of growth in Apple's future.

Re: iPhone Shortage, a Problem or Strategy

I am of the same opinion. The message boards are peppered with posts about how people from other countries are coming to the U.S. to stock up on iPhones due to the lower value of the dollar. And it seems like everyday you read an article or column, like this one from Michael Commeau (http://www.thestreet.com/st... on the advantages of the iPhone over its competition. And Gary Krakow (http://www.thestreet.com/vi... with his report that the Las Vegas CTIA wireless show was all about trying to compete with it. Apple is the king of the hill right now and I am both excited and vigilant.
