Awesome! There's so much backlash on HS50 right now, expecially in the IQ area. Glad to see it's not all that bad :) I'm buying my first bridge superzoom cam and I'm deciding between HS50 and SX50. One's got awesome focus and shutter speeds and focus and zoom rings, the other supposedly better IQ. Glad to see HS50 isn't behind at all :)

hej man, tarantino chewed the subject to the bare bone and it turned out gloriously amusing and funny, so it's not the subject but it's the man touching it that's the problem.
and history only repeats itself because we do not learn from it, maybe you live in a place where Hitler was some mystical tyrant, terrorizing and killing people in some distant land, but he was not. I hope there will never come a time when someone says that they're nazi ant people will be cool with it, because it's just so cool to be cool about everything.

First of all this is great news indeed! But... can't there be a standard for both 48 fps and 60 fps to work? I mean, studios and filmmakers would choose it they want to film in 48 or 60, and the theaters would enable to play both. From what I got out of Camerons presentation the projectors can now handle 48 and 60, given that their software is change - so why not change it so that in enables both 48 and 60fps? Knowing Cameron he'd go for perfection, meaning 60fps ;)

But again, this is great news!!!

Clarke is one hell of a nut to crack for the big screen.. Kubrik made it, but I can imagine how difficult can become trying to draft a script out of his prose (while staying true to the original). I hope they succeed, I hope the movie, if it happenes, lives up to the high expectations.

No chance, you'd need at least 10 BD discs to get it all ;) Plus, they have to save something for the Avatar Trilogy Delux Edition :P But what we're getting seems to be more then enough to satisfy the geek within =]

I'm willing to cut off the tip of my small toe it these are not the reference shots Cameron was talking about :P For people to understand how accurate performance capture is how it really mirriros emotions they need to see the most dramatic and tense CG dialogs in Avatar side by side with the same scenes shot in the volume. 99 minutes should be more then enough :D
