You are my sister from another mister, I'm sure of it. I freaking love community too and have a similar 'troll criticism' story to tell. Thank you for sharing this - it's so important to inspire others to take the time to lean into communities with their businesses.

I loved it so much I curated you for me peeps - spreading the community love!

As you say, it does take time but I can't imagine where I'd be if I didn't make it a priority all these years. Thank you Gini!

I'm with you on everything but one - the 'getting dressed' thing ;) I've been working at home full time for ten years and I've never developed the habit. I don't feel more productive when I am dressed VS chilling in my PJs.

Eliminating distractions is my #1 fave. My 'line of sight' has to be neat and organized. My onlin desktop spaces can't be chaotic, I don't tolerate having dozens of tabs open in my browsers, etc. I deactivated the chat feature in FB so I'm not getting pulled off for chatter when I'm there to do something for my business.

Productivity in your business is a GIFT to your family - when you show them you're making the best of your working time, they are less likely to interrupt and more appreciative when you get to walk away and focus on them.

Hi again Matt :) I'm using aMember, which 'out of the box' is 'first sale' belongs to the affiliate and that customer is database connected to the affiliate for future sales (as long as you set it for - can be any amount of time.)

This is grand for the first sale affiliate, especially since it's popular among users to allow for lifetime database commissions. This gives an affiliate a lot of motivation to encourage a sale when they know there's a nice back end operating.

This ultimately stinks for other affiliates operating in the same neighborhood. They can promote all day long and if another affiliate made the first sale, they get nothing.

Finally, someone asked aMember for a fix and they've provided one - you have to hand add the code at this time. I imagine it will get added in a future update.

The 'Promoting Affiliate Earns The Sale' Fix means whether there's an original referring affiliate connected to the customer account or not, the promoting affiliate gets the sale they instigate.

Sales that come from my own efforts, or the customer just happens back on their own, will still get credited to the original affiliate.

I've been using aMember since 2004. Way back then we had to blend aMember with iDevAffiliate but later they developed their own affiliate feature. I like the all in one nature of things - minus email management - I'm using Amazing SES to manage email delivery within aMember.

My affiliates like that they are 'database connected' to their referrals once a purchase has been made. (I choose to pay affiliates for repeat/return/recurring commissions for the 'lifetime' of my program.)

I have someone in my world who's a narcissist but it took a long time for me to realize it. For quite a while I supposed I was earning her trust and when that happened, she'd finally show some interest in me for a change. Obviously that never happened and ultimately I was exhausted by the one way relationship.

Funny thing is, I felt bad about stepping away from the relationship - thinking I might be hurting her feelings.

Silly me... she probably never noticed! LOL!

The idea that Christians don't spend money - I can't relate to it. Anyone who says that has never been to a good Christian conference - can you say back of the room book and tape sales? I've seen people who dine off the dollar menu all the way to and from the conference but cheerfully drop hundreds on recorded resources to take home and 'dine on' for spiritual food.

Pinning a 'cheap/frugal' tag on any people group is just a way of copping out in my opinion.
