My 4th grader hates anything that isn't fried or made of bacon but he's made and eaten things like kale and red peppers because he has the pride of having grown it or prepared it, himself. It's too bad Measure D doesn't actually fund that program....

Re: Op-ed: Why a liberal mother of 2 is voting no on Measure D

Learn to think for yourself, Ben. I think that's just how it works in an election, which is really sad for all of us. Do we think that the facts of our arguments are so weak that we must support censorship? It speaks volumes about the American political process.

Re: Berkeleyside does not endorse candidates, measures

I noticed that, too, actually; there seems to be a theme in the content of the tweets that are retweeted by Berkeleyside. But they're retweeting things that reference their content and I think it's just a simple as the fact that more people are making pro-Measure D tweets that reference Berkeleyside than anti-Measure D. I'm sure if I tweeted something that referenced my Oped that was relevant and coherent they would retweet it, but I don't particularly want to call that kind of attention to myself on twitter, home of the trolls.

Re: Berkeleyside does not endorse candidates, measures

I really think it's going to backfire on them and all this money will only serve to make sure it passes. They asked me for my permission to print it and use it during their canvassing and I said yes. I do not work for the ABA or have any affiliation whatsoever with them other than occasional email contact, which I also have with people that I know who work with Berkeley vs. Big Soda. I am an independent Berkeley citizen with an opinion, I wrote a piece and submitted it to Berkeleyside without any outside influence.
